PTJ I agree, he is an american hero. Others sit around and moan that their hands are tied, he puts on his gloves and does something about it. I noticed that there is a web-site dedicated to "overthrow" the Sheriff - wonder who is sponsoring that? Illegals are leaving AZ in droves - that can only help the legal Hispanic population and the Native American population of AZ.

This man is my hero as well. He is brave and tough and no-nonsense and I so admire him. Wish there were more like him. Perhaps the US would become less comfortable for illegal immigrants.

Sheriff Arpaio is also my HERO!!! He is exactly what a lawman should be. Too many criminals in this country are coddled and pampered and often only have their hands slapped instead of being punished for their crimes. Because of our very lax laws concerning criminals, and our concern for their "feelings" and welfare while in prison, even the hard-core criminals in our prison systems are treated to three square meals a day, a fitness center, big screen television sets, movies and many other "luxuries" they don't deserve! Sheriff Arpaio has the right idea in his treatment of the offenders in his prison system! They live in tents, they eat bologna sandwiches and they do hard labor daily to keep out of mischief. I say, let the punishment fit the crime and this sheriff has the right attitude and ideas and he follows through. He says what he mens and mans what he says!!

Sheriff Arpaio was on Glenn Beck tonight. He was asked about the charge that he was doing racial profiling. His answer was "I am an equal opportunity arester - I will put anyone who breaks the law in jail" We need a lot more Sheriff Arpaios in this country.

The American civil liberties union is now supporting the Mexican illegals? I am tired of these people telling us how to run our country. It is a bunch of very well payed lawyers making a lot of money off of politics. These people he is going after have broken the law by sneaking into this country, I think the man is a American Hero.

When law enforcement gives extra attention to high crime areas, it's not racial profiling just because those high crime areas have large numbers of illegal immigrants. The fool of a mayor in L.A. wants Ice to wink and nod at the breaking of the immigration laws so that business can make money. I suspect our mayor in Phoenix is complaining about Sheriff Joe for the sake of his profit-driven constituents, too.

Those that elected Joe Arpaio wanted some one to enforce the law. We'll continue to vote him in, but the Mayor of Phoenix has lost a lot of votes with his untenable position.
