West Texas Cult Abused Girls

?
• • Eldorado, Texas — Child welfare officials are scrambling to find foster homes for dozens of girls removed from a secretive West Texas religious retreat built by polygamist leader Warren Jeffs after a 16-year-old living there complained of physical abuse.
• • Officials from Texas Child Protective Services, escorted by state troopers, took 52 girls, ages 6 months to 17 years, from the remote retreat. The girls were believed to be in danger — — abused or in "imminent risk of harm" . . .

Sexual child abuse is rampent in ourn ation today..
What do you believe is the cause of the increase..or is there just more publicity about it today?

When I was in the ministry I had a ministry with disadvantaged children and single parents in a small country town in ohio less then 10,000 population.. in one summer alone I ran into 28 cases of child sexual abuse and that was just in the families I ministered too..
So sad.. It got to the point that Ihad to leave that ministry because I just could not handle it anymore.

We need a 2 strike law.. against child abusers. and a seprate United states {Prison that would hold only those convicted and sentenced to life for this offense.

• • c2clistener asked: What do you believe is the cause of the increase in child abuse — — or is there just more publicity about it today?
• • This is only my theory. I have no facts to back it up.
• • It is possible that it only seems be on the rise because children are taken more seriously today than they were 100 years ago, that there is more attention brought to it — — and because parents have been made more aware of "abuse" and know what to look for.
• • It is also possible that the Roman Catholic Church [by covering up the sexual abuse of children for decades] had a hand in this problem. No doubt these sexually abused children, raped and molested by Catholic priests, have added to the population of pedophiles out there today bothering other little kids.
• • More news on this cult has come to light. Yahoo! News - - news.yahoo.com/ helped report the updates.

What is the appeal of following a cult?

Laziness! It is easier to let others think for you and tell you what to think that to do the work yourself. That is why we have advertising, political parties, churches, organizations.

• • Mothers of Sect Children Forced to Leave
• • Texas (April 15) — Texas officials who took 416 children from a polygamist retreat into state custody sent many of their mothers away Monday, as a judge and lawyers struggled with a legal and logistical morass in one of the biggest child-custody cases in U.S. history.
• • Of the 139 women who voluntarily left the compound with their children since an April 3 raid, only those with children 4 or younger were allowed to continue staying with them, said Marissa Gonzales, spokeswoman for the state Children's Protective Services agency. She did not know how many women stayed.
• • "It is not the normal practice to allow parents to accompany the child when an abuse allegation is made," Gonzales said.
• • Officials from Texas Child Protective Services said: the women were given a choice: Return to the Eldorado, Texas ranch of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a renegade Mormon sect, or go to another safe location. Some women chose the latter, Marissa Gonzales said.
• • The state is accusing the sect of physically and sexually abusing the youngsters and wants to strip their parents of custody and place the children in foster care or put them up for adoption. The sheer size of the case was an obstacle.
• • "Quite frankly, I'm not sure what we're going to do," Texas District Judge Barbara Walther said after a conference that included three to four dozen attorneys either representing or hoping to represent youngsters. ...

You said it Mae, people just turned a blind eye in the old days when women and children were being abused. I remember a scene in "The Godfather", when Sonny Corleone was taking up for his sister Connie and their mother advised against it. This is how things were handled. Mind your own business. Imagine, her own mother!

My dad was born in 1923, he ended up being the oldest child of 15! How did his father rule the roost, with an ironing cord, or whatever handy weapon of choice he might get his fierce Irish hands around to inflict punishment to keep the kiddies in line. Before my dad lost his memories he used to say that looking back he realizes that he was abused. Being a boy, and being the oldest, it wasn't pretty. Sometimes his closest brother would take the blame for the littlier kids so to spare them the wrath of their angry father.

Men used to call knocking their wives around, "giving her a tune up."

Things have changed for the better, but they are far from perfect.

These cults are a haven for the weak minded, and the brainwashed, usually ruled by tyrants out for their own gratification and power.
