Camp Hill
The title of this short horror film posted on YouTube caught my eye because there's a town called Camp Hill near me. I wondered if the film was about that town, or made there (it wasn't).
Turns out the film is part Friday the 13th, part Evil Dead, about young folks on a camping trip who disturb a ritual site and unleash a deadly evil. It was shot on digital video with a $75 budget by Fighting Owl Films, which "was founded in 2003 as a production moniker for our short and student films." The group is trying to raise money to do a feature film, and openly asks for donations on their web site. What you see on YouTube is "a bare bones version of a planned feature film."
And here it is:
part 1
part 2
See what you think. The whole film is fifteen minutes long. It's not exactly full of surprises, but it's an earnest effort, and I find myself wanting to encourage these kids.
