The end of the road for Clinton

While talking to Keith Olbermann on tonight's Countdown, Newsweek's Jonathan Alter said, "the Clinton campaign is in it's death throws."

All day today on both CNN and MSNBC, just about every political commentator concurs that the Clinton campaign is imploding and is beyond salvaging.

It would appear that not only has the Bosnia misrepresentation by Clinton done more damage to her credibilty than anyone had anticipated, but the issue of Rev. Wright's comments seemed to have backfired and hurt her more than Sen. Obama. Even the polls in PA are reflecting this. Right now the polls say that it's 50/50 between Sen. Obama and Clinton.

It is also agreed by almost all analysts that the superdelegates will decide this thing--perhaps sooner than later. Clinton is simply doing too much damage to the Democratic party and the DNC and superdelegates are not going to allow her to destroy the party's chance of winning the general election.

I've noticed a change in the coverage today, myself. It seems to be the #1 story on the news. I hope the powers
that be get hold of her and tell her this is the end! For
the good of the party.....and so that Democrats will have
a member of their party in the White House after the Nov.
election!
I hope all of the people with the power to change what's going on step in and DO IT!!!!!

Ah, good old Jonathan Alter, he's my hero! (Next to Sen.
Obama, of course).

I forgot to mention that the other major thing that has detroyed the Clinton campaign is the revelation in the White House papers that as First Lady she played a crucial role in getting NAFTA passed in a reluctant Congress.

This does not sit well with PA voters. There are two things that PA voters hate the most: 1) NAFTA, because it has hurt them almost as much as it has hurt the people in Ohio and 2) a two-faced politician, which Hillary has clearly demonstrated she is. No wonder she didn't want those White House papers released. And now voters are wondering what she's hidding in the Clinton's income-tax returns. And, Sen. Obama keeps pushing the issue.

But, the lies about her trip to Bosnia and NAFTA seem to be the last nails in the coffin of her campaign.

It was a very bad day for Hillary, But tomorrow she might think up something that will again hurt Barack.

I wrote to Howard Dean tonight and told him to do something before the Clintons destroy the party and McCain wins the White House. I asked that they hold an open Super Delegate convention and get those votes counted in front of the public. Here's Dean's website. Please everyone, send him a letter and tell him what you think. If he gets enough emails, perhaps he'll do something constructive. It's time for the future President to start debating his real rival.....not the Clintons.

Well, pardon the blatant ugliness in this statement, but based on your post Argo all I can say is, Yes, there is a God! I haven't watched any coverage today, was too busy to sit down, and your words are happy music to my ears! WOW 50/50 in PA?!@#? Unbelievable! And we still have some weeks to continue to educate those voters about the desirability of an Obama presidency. Will the Clinton supporters vote at all if she's washed up (?) Will the Rush Limbaughian Republicans give her a win? OK, it's time for me to watch the new Obama girl video to celebrate and let go of unnecessary worrying.

OK....here's the letter I sent to Gov. Howard Dean:

Dear Governor Dean,

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know. But, I think it's time for the DNC and the party elders to force Sen. Hillary Clinton to step down from her campaign. In my opinion, her attacks and those of her surrogates on Sen. Obama have become a serious threat to the Democratic party. I believe that her "kitchen sink" tactics are slowly destroying our party's chances of winning the general election in November. Even Newsweek's Jonathan Alter today said to Keith Olbermann on MSNBC's Countdown that, "The Clinton campaign is in it's death throws."

I believe, as do many supporters of Sen. Obama, that he is a once in a lifetime candidate. We also believe that Sen. Clinton is acting purely out of desperation in her attacks on Sen. Obama and in the process is doing profound damage to the party.

I think it's pretty clear at this point in time that this primary will have to be decided by the superdelegates anyway. It is my feeling, as well as many others that I have spoken with, that this would be better done sooner rather than later.

This country is on the verge of total economic collapse thanks to the failed policies of the Bush administration. And 4,000 Americans killed in Iraq is 4,000 too many--not to mention the fatalities of innocent Iraqis. We can't afford to take the chance of four more years of the same in the form of a McCain administration. And, unfortunately, Sen. Clinton is making that more and more a real possibility with her refusal to accept the facts. Thank you for your time.

Best regards,

Eric F. Diaz
