Good for you Pat! I'm also 67 & enjoying riding & some training more than ever before. I seem to trust my horse & enjoy the wildlife on our travels thru the forests-- much more than when I was younger.

I'm glad to see you enjoy your horse and riding. 7 is still pretty young and green for a horse isn't it? (unless they are a race horse)
Pat - I am thrilled that you are experiecing riding. On the right horse it can be such a relaxing experience. I started riding at age five but with husband in the service, had to quit for many years. Took it back up about 20 years and then was introduced to someone who had 6 six horses. Cocoa was about about 8 and Crimson 9. We ended up buying them both and rode for many years. They are 22 and 23 now and are semi-retired. Just ride bareback in the pasture now.
Thanks for the encouragement, Pat!! I've had these horses for 8 years and am trying to carve out some time to spend riding and improving my horsemanship and ridership. I just don't want to take lessons on another horse, when I have 2 of my own. So I am learning that time can be a friend or an enemy. I take the time when it's available and don't worry too much when I can't ride. The ole' addage of "making hay when the sun shines" has been working better for me. Thanks again!!
This thread brings joy to my soul! Thank you all!
Go for your Bliss!!!!
It is never too late...you are never too old....
Yes, sensibilty matters, but oh, what inspiring people you all are.
My personal motto is: "It is better to wear out than to rust out."
Pat you are so awesome! You and Zak warm my heart, and I love that you always have fun with him no matter what. That is what a life with horses is all about. Jo
