Calories in Easter Candy
I just read this article about calories in various kinds of Easter candy -- I would like to summarize the results, and then since this is an advice column, ask my question at the end:
Peeps:
4 peeps = 130 calories. They are fat-free but high carb - 8 grams of sugar alone, adding up to 32 grams in a serving of four.
Jelly Beans:
Each individual bean is only around 5 or 6 calories.
The recommended 35-bean serving = 140 calories from 37 grams of sugar.
Cadbury Chocolate Eggs:
12 eggs = 190 calories and 8 grams of fat.
Cadbury Creme Egg:
The 1.2-ounce egg = 150 calories, 5 grams of fat and 25 grams of carbs.
Reese's Peanut Butter Egg:
All three varieties -- milk chocolate, fudge and white chocolate--have a calorie count of 180.
The fat content is 10 grams, double that of the Cadbury Creme Egg, with the white-chocolate egg the worst, at 11 grams.
Hershey's Hollow Milk Chocolate Egg:
One hollow Hershey's egg (4.65 ounces)= 570 calories.
Eat the four Hershey's kisses included inside and you're up to 660 calories and 41 grams of fat.
Large Chocolate Bunny:
The average seven-ounce rabbit = 1,050 calories
Smaller one-ounce bunnies = 140 calories
---------------------------------------- -----
What I want to know is --
Since I am supposed to be dieting (sorta kinda), what do you recommend as the best way to eat all the candy that I intend to on Easter and not feel guilt about it?
