cookie sellers

I have nothing against the Girl Scouts. However, right now they are everywhere, selling cookies. They were setting up outside the restaurant we went to for breakfast this morning. Then, when I went shopping for groceries, they had set up right outside the doors. Okay, so I come out with a loaded cart and cannot stay on the walkway because they are blocking it. I have to push the cart into the area where cars are going back and forth in the parking lot. This ticks me off. And there were two adults there, who could see what was going on but they left their table there anyway. I felt like asking them why they were doing that, but I didn't. Sometimes people do not see the most obvious thing, right in front of their eyes. Too intent on pushing cookies to all and sundry.

Their sales campaign doesn't last very long so one day out of your life to walk around them shouldn't be too traumatic. You could have said "Excuse Me, can I please get by" and I'll bet they would have giggled and moved.

Is patently obvious you have not been confronted by the battle lines the Girl Scout Cookie sellers present to shoppers. No matter the weather, they are out in it. It is never just one or two, it is a whole hoard of girls and adults and tables blocking the way. Go out of the store and back in again and you are again accosted. They never remember a face!

Oh yes I have, many time for many years. But it didn't upset me. Big stuff upsets me, not these little things. They are kids, for God's sake. Give them a little slack.Or just scream at them "Get out of my Way your forgetful little kids." That expresses your feelings nicely.

Hey at least some of them are actually selling them and not just having the parents harass all their coworkers while they do nothing.

If there are adults with the kids, the adults should be bright enough to figure out they are blocking the sidewalk to anyone who wishes to get by, with or without a cart or groceries. It's rude, is my point. I don't care if they sell cookies. I do care that they are clueless about the convenience of others while they do it.

I heard some parents buy up large amounts of cookies so the kids get the prises or awards and then when the cookies come they get permission to set up shop in front of a supermarket. Some have been known to bump up the price and make a profit. They defend this, if asked, by saying there is no waiting time. I remember a newspaper article about a supermarket changing it's mind when this was brought to the managers attention. I think, the complain was from the parents of other Girl Scouts.

People hanging out on a corner dealing drugs would upset me. I can say that these young ladies selling Girl Scout cookies do not upset me!

If they were in my way I would say something to them or just give them a nudge with the cart and say oh sorry didnt see your were blocking the entrance to the store . Maybe you should pull your table out of the exit way . They got to be dumb for setting up infront of the door and you got to be deliberate for bumping into them. Play the game have fun with it . They were obviously told by the adult to do that . So go over and get in the adults face . Or trip over the table and sue for 2.5 million and call it you lucky day .

As a mother, I wouldn't want my little girls going door to door anymore. It doesn't bother me to buy two boxes of cookies every year at the grocery store. After that it is just no thanks and move on.

Boy if old age makes people this nasty about kids in the way? Rather have a kid in front of my cart then a old bitchy person behind a cart. These kids can't go door to door safely and I for one think it is petty for you to be in such a hurry. You don't see what is in front of your eyes just a bunch of kids.....
