Hey Girl. I noticed that you are a member of a crochet group here on Eons. I was going to join to post a message that I thought might be of interest to a few of your group. I am a nurse in the ER at an inner city hospital here in NJ. When a patient expires (passes) in the ER, we place what we call a mourning blanket on them so that when the family comes in to view their loved one, it looks more loving than sterile--before they leave, we remove the blanket and give it to the family. The other night when my patient passed I used the last one that someone made for us. My thought is, you might have members that would like to get rid of old yarn, and crochet a few for us to use that would be one of the greatest gifts. If so, they don't have to be too big or fancy at all, I would say 2 foot by 4 foot, something like that (its a strecher, not a bed) Let me know your thoughts, and if that is a possibility let me know and I would be able to give you the address of the hospital if anyone wants to be an angel.
