ha... hope to me is the element of surprise. A small delight that I had not expected.
example of feathers. We, my daughter and I had bought packages of feathers, ribbons and netting, oh, and face paint to participate in the 'day of the dead' parade. We carried a picture of one who had passed and made our costumes and went in beauty to the parade. It was wonderful. then upon returning, the whole house was feathered, and ribboned and netted as the cats had gotten into the packages and played and played and played. It was rather wonderful to know they had a good time too.
What gives you hope every day?
God gives me hope, that feeling of trust to go forward.
To me hope, a feeling of trust, comes when my life is content or those I love, so I make sure I go after things in life that bring contentment and that which are in line with my spiritual walk through life here on earth.
For example, becoming a vegetarian brought me so much contentment. I didn’t realize what a disarray my emotional health was in until I let go of something that I struggled with for years. Another example of my contentment is knowing my son is happy and safe.
Although I have had times in my life where you would think I would give up hope, but I didn’t, and the reason is because I knew there were others who suffered worse. Self Pity takes away your ability to receive hope.
Hi Marti,
“Hope springs eternal in the human breast: Man never is, but always To be Blest” by Alexander Pope seems to express the same idea of continually improving (by the grace of God).
There is hope for a better world, for cures for diseases and infirmities, for continuing to learn, for finding more and more beauty and joy with each coming day.
