groups

What I need to know is: Where are you? Is ELDER ELDERS a defunct group and are you still interested in a group for 75+ year olds? Or are you by now completely "Up To Here" with OLD people?

Hello everyone! I'm new - just joined today, August 18th of 2009. In 11 days I will be 71.

However, I don't think we think of ourselves as the elderly elders - just as the 70 to 80's that have slower bodies!

I live in the UP of Michigan in a small city called Menominee. It is on Lake Michigan. You won't find me living in Florida or in the south, as I can't stand the heat and humidity. I stay inside in the AC all summer up here. Yes, it does get hot and humid here.

However, as of labor day, it cools off and we have the most beautiful falls. Then in lated December, we get the cold and snow. It's much easier to live in the cold as you can always put on more clothes! And the snow is beautiful! Especially, if you don't have to drive in it. The snow removal is so good nowadays that you rarely get caught out in the snow and ice.

I definitely think that our generation is the best yet - including the Boomers and the X-Generation and whatever else they call themselves. We've really lived in exciting time in history - just think of all of the wonderful things that have happened, been invented, and been seen by us and of all the wonderful people that we have been exposed to. No other age group will be able to top us for hundred of years.
