I can't reply because I keep thinking of those blissful moments.
I am into flashbacks with this word. goodie goodie.

Nan, you said it all! Bliss renders me silent--that point when Being transcends feeling and thought.
I am not a particular student of Buddhism or any other religious teachings. The earth and the stars are my base of worship and connection. Even so, I have, on occasion, stumbled and fallen into a state of pure bliss.

Bliss is a state where your wholeness is so intense that you lose your consciousness of yourself.
Hi Marti,
Thanks for the question. "Follow your bliss" is the recommendation of Joseph Campbell (mentor of George Lucas), and I believe the implication is that bliss means different things to different people.
What is it that YOU are passionate about? What is it that gives you great joy to persue and achieve?
Some have claimed that sexual gratification is a primary drive for humans, while others suggest it is to love, be loved, and feel love.
Personally I enjoy learning, teaching, helping, being helped, encouraging, and being encouraged. I enjoy creating (artistically), and finding more of the ways that beauty and love are expressed in the world.
Acceptance, recognition, and appreciation are great when they comes from others, but perhaps it is more important to feel that within one's self?
Namaste,
RD

Bliss does not last long. Whatever one finds blissful will soon be gone or taken for granted. It is the natural state of Man to want stuff. If you get your wish, you move on to something else in a never ending search for the state of bliss. Each goal that is achieved offers short term bliss. But bliss cannot be happiness because we always move on to the next level. Bliss is the food we need to keep going. You may feel fine after a nice meal, but tomorrow, you're hungry again. We search for bliss like a tiger on the hunt. So enjoy it while you have it, because it will not last long.
Bliss is not knowing how awful the world around you really is.
