I was wondering...is 53 to old to join this group? I am a mountain bike rider. I just got my new bike. It is a trek 4300 and I can not wait to go on my first ride!

No. I'm 53. Minimum age is 49. Lovedogs is 50.

I hope you don't consider 53 being old. I am almost 71 and don't consider myself old. I was riding my Bianchi steel frame road bike 15 to 20 miles a day and 40 to 50 miles on a weekend until a dog ran in front of me causing me to crash. I sustained a serious injury to my right knee and had to have a total knee replacement last Nov. I have tried to get back to riding but my knee does not like it yet. I was up to riding 10 to 12 miles a day but had swelling and temperature increase in my knee. So, now I walk and do weight exercises expecting in time to get back to riding.
Whatever you do, don't let an old man come into your body and remember:
