High Blood Pressure

Any tips on how to naturally lower high blood pressure? I was layed off from my job and can't afford any medications but actually losing my job has lowered my blood pressure quite a bit already. Now I am able to get decent amount of sleep where before I was lucky to get 5 or 6 hours due to a long commute but the unemployment pay sucks LOL.

I agree..consult with your doctor..diet & exercise can affect blood pressure however some have it as a result of genetics or stress in their lives..My niece has been a vegetarian for 15 years ..never ever eats any meat regardless..Her blood pressure is way higher than mine and she must take medications..There are lots of alternatives out there..Research is required..as your decision affects your life..Each of us are different that is how God made us so why we can offer alternatives to you ONLY your doctor can effectively address the issue..Good luck and PPA is a good project Also ACCESS ( Spelling may be incorrect) that acts as a prescription card and gets one lower prices when you are uninsured or under insured..

Meditation. No, not medication, mediTation. Of any kind. Yoga, Zen, TM...just spend a little (more the better) time each day sitting, doing nothing. I've been sitting with a Vipassana community for a few years now and can tell when I've slacked off.

gm is right about apple cider vinegar (honey is optional). I take it everyday and it does work. I also just recently started buying a product from the grocery store called "Supershots - by Promise" which is designed to lower BP and cholesterol. It contains plant sterols and 350mg. of potassium . It is found in the yogurt section. I highly recommend a book called "The High Blood Pressure Solution (a scientifically proven program for preventing strokes and heart disease)by Richard D. Moore, M.D., Ph.D.". This book explains why people have high BP and what can be done about it (besides taking pills). Some of the reasons may surprise you.
