Oil Painters

I have a question for oil painters out there. Do you finish you paintings? If so, what with. I was using Damar, went to retouch varnish as a lot of times I don't have 6 months for a paint to cure out before I put it in a show and if there are inconsistencies, think the retouch works best, but I'm not always happy with the finish it gives. I was just wondering what others did. Suz

HI
When I finish a painting, I oil it out when it's dry. I just take some linseed and go over the whole painting with light circlular motions to even out the matte and shiny spots. Damar is fine too. Same idea.

I have yet to use any sealant. Oil is a pretty good solid resin itself. I hear wax is good too.

Let me know if you learned anything new, it's always nice to hear a new tip :)

also...myamericanartist.com is a great place to go for questions.
