For Supporters Of Barack Obama

Photobucket

I thought it might be easier on us all if we could consolidate support posts for a specific candidate. Only positive things about this candidate and the reasons for your support should go here. Any negative posts about this or any other candidate will be deleted in this topic. This way those of us who have had our candidates leave the race can see your positive feelings about this candidate.

I would be happy with either Obama or Clinton in the white house. However, given that John McCain will probably be the nomination for the Republican party, I think Obama would have an easier victory. Of course, McCain would prefer Clinton as his opponent. Clinton has so much hatred on the Republican side that many will vote against her, even though they don’t quite like McCain. With Obama, a whole young group of Democrats will come out to vote! And while there might be some hatred of Obama on the Republican side, I have a feeling it is less than Clinton. My vote goes to Obama.

Thank you. Exactly the kind of response that we need to have in the 3 candidate supporter posts.

I've not been shy when expressing my evolving choices for the nomination. I chose, first Kucinich, then Edwards, and finally Obama, who got my vote.
Admittedly, my choice of Obama was romantic in nature. In my mind, it is 1968, again, and we get a second chance at The Great Society.

I am not opposed to Mrs. Clinton. She, simply, is my fourth choice. She doesn't inspire me as much as Obama did.

From Barack Obama, October 2, 2002

“I know that even a successful war against Iraq will require a US occupation of undetermined length, at undetermined cost, with undetermined consequences. I know that an invasion of Iraq without a clear rationale and without strong international support will only fan the flames of the Middle East, and encourage the worst, rather than best, impulses of the Arab world, and strengthen the recruitment arm of Al Qaeda. I am not opposed to all wars. I'm opposed to dumb wars.”

He was right from the beginning.

As with the other Obama supporters, I would be happy with Senator Clinton. I simply feel that Obama is the better choice.

I echo Bernie when he says that Obama is likelier to win a general election against John McCain, the presumptive nominee.

I echo Turk when he references Obama's ability to inspire.

When Obama speaks of wanting to do more than end the war in Iraq, when he speaks of wanting to change the mindset that led us there, he provides a glimpse of the world in which I hope to live.

I voted for Hillary Clinton but it was a hard choice. Mr. Obama has charisma and youthful enthusiasm. His heart is in the right place as is the heart of Mrs. Clinton. I believe the they complement each other and would make a great team of leaders. My vision of the future is a clinton Obama team in 2008 and Obama Clinton in 2012. This would leave the option open for either configuration to do a third term in 2016. I figure it will take at least 12 years of good leadership to undo the mess we are in now.

16 sounds good. I just didn't want to sound too greedy.

WOW I like the sound of 16. Almost get a shiver up my spine. Just have to get out the vote. Keep the numbers high in November.
