And unfortunately, every time someone decides to start a new thread to voice their personal view, pro or con, it takes up more space on the message board.... and NOT letting it R.I.P.
Naivte' and Apathy. A deadly combination. Certainly not of national importance on this issue, but a sure sign of the let's just accept the status quo and whatever else is dished out and be grateful we don't live in Darfur. And so they were led to the showers in Germany. I know this sounds overly dramatic, but when you're dealing with a bunch of sheep who don't recognize a slaughterhouse from a pasture, you often have to heat up the rhetoric.
Apparently most of you have forgotten the survey on this issue several months ago, and the response from EONS to the sound defeat of approval for opening the site to younger people. I guess being played as a fool doesn't bother most as it does me. Just follow the sheep with the bell around its' neck. You're probably the same ones who 'trusted' leadership that told us we were in "imminent danger" from Iraq and let the perpatrator of 9/11 thumb his nose at us for 6 1/2 years.
Did it ever occur to you that since we obviously wanted to retain this site's 50+ status ,and that EONS was well aware of it, that they might have given us an option to pay an annual feel to keep it the way we wanted it? Solving both profit and patriotism issues in one.
But I'm sure all of you with no backbone, sense of integrity, or pride have stopped reading the ranting of a protester of Principle, not Paranoia. Once the ad campaign starts, I'm outta here. If it doesn't, then pass me the salt and start eating the crow.
...and you know what?? The scroll button still works for those of you who don't want to hear about it anymore. Go post some YouTube videos and some sparkly graphics. Which I'll never understand either, isn't that like transferring one site to another? Why not cut out the middle man and go straight to whichever of the sites strikes your fancy. I don't need outside, canned material here. I want to talk to real people (in my age range) about real things in real ways.
I'm baffled by the number of people who lambaste those who are accepting the changes and moving on.
What baffles me is what personal benefit they have gotten by staying here. What personal principle is being upheld by continuing to post?
If you want to paint the rest of us as sheep, why are you still in the flock?
And I suppose that your "minority" group calling those of us concerned about this turn of events, bickerers, complainers, ungrateful, paranoid, et al, doesn't smack of lambasting on your side of the field?
You didn't even mention the positive suggestions that many of us made about other options that might have been offered.
As for why I'm still here: I'm waiting to see if the media blitz, which I believe has been standing in the wings all along, goes into action. Then we'll see who has the last laugh. My group already has an emergency exit prepared, but we are waiting for the next move. If it doesn't happen, the crow is still on the table, and we will probably remain here. None of that discounts the breach of trust, lack of upfront honesty, or the damn principle of the thing. Now, go Lambaste away, and pretend you are really the embodiment of charitable, loving, trusting and more mature individuals that you so egotistically believe you are. I've never met a person yet who loudly proclaimed they took the high rode on an issue, that didn't eventually slip off their self constructed pedestals. Look out, that first step's a doozie!
That last steps a doozie too...!!
Theres one thing about being in the
back of the pack...the view never changes!.....Maybe thats why sheep
dont follow each other in a line?
Accepting change and being willing
to keep a balance is usually unpopular
with some that like keeping things out
of kilter.
As for me i like balance it keeps you
regular....
ExLax is quicker. Don't make any waves on the Lake of Smarmalade.
Have you heard that if a sheep wanders out of sight of the herd, it will die unless someone brings it back? It gets lost in the world outside the herd. Whereas sled dogs have actually found their way through blizzards by ignoring the Driver's reining to go a different directions. They got the silly man where he wanted to go by going their way.
Wouldnt know about that...i use
a vehicle to get around in and im pretty
good at reading maps ...Im not lost
But if you are i'll send a search party
out for you.
