And she still harbors hopes of reviving her career.

The last thing I caught Raquel in was "American Family". A PBS series where she played Dora, the main character's eccentric sister. She was terrific, and I have to say "Welcome to the Captian" sounds like an excellent vehicle for Ms. Welch. I would watch.

• • Yes, she has been "enhanced" by plastic surgery - - and gosh knows what else - - but if she can convince the American public that 67-year-old sexpots deserve adoration, I am all for it.

Welcome to the Captain premieres tonight on CBS. It looks cute, but I haven't been into sitcoms for years.

Raquel Welch was on The CBS Early Show this morning. She has always promoted health and exercise. I have her workout video from when she was 40 and her later yoga ones. You have to admire how she has pushed a healthy lifestyle over quick fixes.

And yes, I'm sure her 67 year-old face has seen some work, but it is not as extreme as many aging Hollywood stars.

I've always liked Raquel's down-to-earth attitude. She doesn't say much, but she always makes good sense.
