I second that Kay. I applaud you going private with this group. As a dad of teens I will be the first to say... they don't need to be posting here, they have plenty of places to do so with their age peers.
I think you did the right thing.
I know what you mean Kay. I had to make my group private. I considered going public with approval as you did, but some of our posts are PG-50. I'm not comfortable with teens being able to access and read our group even without being a member. Going private was the only way I can assure that they can't peruse the group. I don't want to censor my members or lose them. What angers me most is that they snuck it in under the wire after telling us a few months ago they heard our voice and will not open eons up to younger members. Did everyone read Jeff Taylor's announcement on the home page?
Yes I read the self serving nonsense. I posted a comment as did droves of others. Not that he will read them.
As I posted I'm in agreement with that! I suppose they can form their own AI group here now that this site no long excludes anyone! SO Kaytime, this means that people who want to join our group can't just pop in, but must be approved correct? Is it not possible a 16yr old can come in here as a "mature adult"? Heck I'm not real certain on how EONS can really verify a persons age anyway!
They do have to be approved to join. There is no way to go by anything other than what they list as their age. If we do have a problem, they can always be removed.
Kaytime,
I read this in another group earlier today. I do not agree with nor do I want kids in this site. That is not how it was set up to be. We need to stop it. Any ideas on how to do this ????????????

Good idea, keeping it private. Teens have more than enough places to express themselves. Let's keep it real!
I'm glad you did that, Kay. Until we see how things are really going to be, we have to protect our groups and members. I enjoy this group, and I don't really want to know before hand what's going to happen. I don't understand what a younger generation would want with this site anyway with all the groups that they already have.
