without you ...

The creek ran clear today, so shallow it hosted
The gulls who waded and bathed and drank and preened.
Most days and nights my mind is eerily quiet
But watching the seagulls made my heart speak again.

Seeing joy, life, discovering new things,
I think of you, wanting to share,
To ask if you know the why of things ...
Without you ... all of life is diminished.

Without you, I am free of pain in my vacuum
But my endless questions
Go unanswered.

Can another ever tell us the WHY to anything?
Maybe writing & discussing with yourself will tell you why.
Beautiful thoughts.

I could hear the gulls and smell the salt air. "I am free of pain in my vacuum" Oh yeah, always a mixed bag.
Lovely, thoughtful and well written.
