Kids on EONS

I just read on EONS Advisers that kids will be allowed to join. If this is true and it happens, I for one will be leaving ASAP...

They are here. If you check out the members of the January 08 Newcomers Club group you will see plenty under the age of 49. I noticed one young man that was 23 years old. Another woman was in her 30's. According to one of the moderators quite a few joined today that are in their 20's and 30's.
I don't like this now and I didn't like it before when there was a survey regarding people under 50 being allowed to join.
I'm sure it's a legal issue for one. Probably something to do with discrimination.
I have a feeling a lot of groups will be going private because of this issue.

EONS Terms of Use "TOU"
This is in the eons "TOU"

While Eons is intended for baby boomers (born from 1946 to 1964) and older, anyone over 13 may register (but see our notices below regarding “Children Under Age 13” and “Children Between the Ages of 13 and 18”). As a Registered Member, you have your own Profile consisting of access to content and tools such as community tools (e.g., discussion Groups and blogs) and other services in which only Registered Members may participate.

Children Under Age 13

You may register on Eons if you are older than the age of 13. Eons is not directed at children under 13 years of age. Any registration with, use of or access to the Eons website by anyone under 13 is unauthorized, unlicensed and in violation of these TOU.

Eons does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register on Eons or send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number or email address. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to or on the Eons website. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at view link

Children Between the Ages of 13 and 18

We recommend that minors over the age of 13 ask their parents for permission before posting any information about themselves on any website or sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet.

Parents of children between the ages of 13 and 18 who wish to allow their children access to the Eons website have the responsibility to determine the content that is appropriate for their children. Please be aware that Eons members have created areas on the Eons website that may contain adult or mature content.

A group can set it's own rules for age limit. It can be stated, but difficult to enforce once eons starts advertising to the teens. I am very disappointed in this change.

It's true... please click on boom and we will try to get this message to the home page of Eons. Several groups already have booms about this subject on the home page.

I am very unhappy about Eons changing their age restrictions. I really believed that Eon's WAS for people 50+ for that reason I have enjoyed being on this site. If Eon's is only worried about the money aspect as opposed to listening to their members who have already told them we don't want kids on this site, then I think it is time for us to let them know how we feel about this.

We need to write a letter to AARP and collectively sign our names so at least they know what is happening and can address the issue in AARP magazine. All of us have been hoodwinked.

This is Not a new topic. Boom it all you like. It doesn't matter. Many people already expressed their vehement opposition to this in a direct forum to eons, and they Ignored it. It isn't about what we want. It's about Money.
