SDG...you really reached into the vault for this obscure song. It prompted me to do some research and now I'm going to go Drdoowop on the details. The question is which came first Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" or ebn-ozn's "AEIOU And Sometimes Y"? Well it appears ebn-ozn gets the nod here. Wikopedia acknowledges them as first American band to release an album with this single included in 1983 on a Fairmont CMI (computer musical instrument), or called a polyphonic digital sampling synthesizer. Van Halen's "1984" title speaks for itself. So might Eddie and David Lee have been tempted to borrow a little inspiration for their hit, only they know for sure. In closing, use of the CMI became all the vogue(oops, sorry about that) with groups like Alan Parsons Project, Peter Gabriel, Duran Duran, Todd Rundgren, Yes, Asia, Stevie Wonder and a ton of others using it. What would music do without the digital synthesizer? OK class there's the bell!
I watched the vid many times, years ago. My degree is in visual arts, so there ya go...
I love look of the narrator's lips & facial expressions...
Yeah, some of the best lip syncing I've ever seen...They remind me of Hall and Oates meets A Flock of Seagulls...I'll tell you one thing, I never had any teachers like that when I was in school. Again thanks for digging this one out.
wow, I saw this one as a sensual experience, am awakened by your clinical view.
SDG I can't help it, seems like my sensual reactors have numbed out a bit over the years. I've always been the analytical one, maybe too much at times...sorry, but can't help myself. I love the video...but to show you how bad I really am...I even analyzed how they got those young kids to sit in class while this hot teacher sort of flirted with them.
~lol~ Thanks ~ you reminded me of the film critique class. There is much more to see.
