Just joined and want to travel

Hello all, I have been a member for about an hour I was so glad to find this group. (After trying to find my way around the site for a while.) I have done some limited traveling as a single and have loved the places I visited. However, I know it would have been more fun if I was sharing the experience with another person. I have a "Places I want to Visit" list. I have used two Elderhostel programs to enjoy two trips and I continue to look for Elderhostel programs that would allow me to visit a desired location (or multiple locations) with a group of people my age. I thoroughly enjoyed the two programs I have been on. One was to Alaska to see the start of the Iditarod dog sled race. The other was to view whales in the upper St. Lawrence waterway. From that program I continued, alone, up along the St. Lawrence for about 400 miles. I joined a whale research crew for a day looking for whales and other sea life from a rubber raft type "boat". It was great. After that I drove around the edge of the Gaspe' peninsula, stopping to see many of the interesting sights. At New Brunswick, I visited only a limited number of places as I was getting tired. I would love to find another person who would like to travel together. Hope I hear from people. Sorry, I have yet to post a picture. Soon

I travel alone a lot--partly because I need a good night's rest and a few people I tried sharing with were snorers. Earplugs did not help.

There is an Elderhostel on Cumberland Island , Ga.a few times a year. Only double rooms available. If you are a quiet sleeper and are interested please let me know. I have been to several El. and liked all of them.Avery
