Where do you sleep?

I was wondering where you stay now if not in your own home. Sometimes home ownership isn't all it's cracked up to be. It seems all you do is work to pay for the house and work to clean and maintain a house. Since my kids are grown, I'd like to try an RV or a houseboat!

actually I have tried all avenues of having my own place.....had a home and sold it did not want the upkeep...moved to a warmer climate in a townhome where there wasn't any upkeep....was too far from family and friends so sold it..stayed with one son for a year to help raise their firstborn...bought a home in a retirement community....was not there long enough to enjoy it and make friends...sold it now I travel to visit my children (3) and my grandchildren for their birthdays I have a place in each home thats private....I have the best plan that works for me at this time.I have a place at the beach and when I am not there I rent it and we all get to go there together. I love being with my family and friends since its more difficult for them to travel I do .I realize this life style may seem strange to some but it works for me!

I have lived in Homes,Rentals,Townhomes,timeshares.
and Modular Houses,Mobilehome. I even traveled around the country by motorhome and traveltrailers.Never did the houseboat thing..I loved the traveltrailer the best, motorhome second best. You can always find another vheicle to tow your trailer, motorhome breaks down, your home is broke too. It takes alittle getting used to towing, but, just think safety first, and you'll be fine. The nice thing about RV living, you can always move to a better spot.God bless you, and drive safe.

RV is the way we are going. No upkeep, property or school taxes. You can even change your location if you wish to. And if you need a vacation anywhere in the US you can take your home with you and not worry about it.

Hello!

This is Dorothy (wilderness)

I now live in a trailer in Bettendorf, Iowa. I moved here
in july from an apartment in Davenport, IA.

I gave most of my furniture to the Salvation Army as I
had nobody to help me move. Luckly, I had a twin bed.
It took two trips to get the bed here, but I did it.

Utilities were much cheaper in the apartment, but the rent
went up every year and was getting to much for me.

Although I have privacy and no one bothers me anymore,
it's like living in a cardboard box. The trailer is so very old
and drafty, I hang quilts and blankets over the door and windows.
It helps some, but my energy bill is awful even
on a budget plan.

I guess If I wasn't so stuborn in 1978 with my husband,
I think surviving would be a little easier for both of us.

I think my ranting is done for now. I hope I didn't bore you
too much.

Happy New Year!
Dorothy

Right now we are living in a condo I purchased, but I plan on buying a small house. I have a friend who bought a house that is only about 900 sq ft and it is so cute, that is all we need to be happy. I can't see paying taxes on something so grand, so large, as long as we are happy with what we can actually afford.
