A HEADS UP, PLEASE

Today's news has a very serious tone. Any moderator or Manager who wishes to remove this post from their group today, please feel free to do so and no hard feelings on my part.

On Christmas Eve, I realized my oldest and much beloved son was dying. I think I went a little crazy for a while...I am still grieving for my future loss.

During this period of time, a small disagreement and then a misunderstanding with a dear friend blossomed into a full out war. I was very hurt and very angry. I lashed out in pain and anger and hurt the very ones dearest to me. I am so sorry and hope I will be forgiven by all concerned.

And for one of mine...Welcome home dear heart... We mourn the passing of Gale DeWayne Haltom USN who served our country in the North Atlantic. Be at ease, dear heart, go in safety and rest in peace.

Welcome home all mine, welcome home..be at ease, go safely, hugs to all of mine...the emom

Sheesh, I shoulda stayed in bed...period! Lilyputz is carrying a vole around in her mouth and wanting in the house! Uh un! No way! Big red is going crazy. There are elec workers up and down the road across from me...there are wires down in the front drive...I hope they're not live... Big red wants the guys to come out of their trucks to play..Guys don't want to play with big red! She's impressive when her hair is all bushed out!

ALLRIGHT!!!! Judy just called from the vet's office.
Gave her directions to get here with new big dog! Him's still woozy she said but she will be on her way shortly. It'll take her an hour or so to get here!

I'm gonna take my red bathrobe out and an old comforter off the bed out on the porch for him. Old worn clothes are the best for breaking in a new dog at a new location. Meems gonna bribe him too! Gots lots of doggy treats and bacon grease! Him name is gonna be Beau! Judy says he weighs 80 lbs. Guess that'll be big enuf...

Back to the electric guys! lolol I used to work with elec up in Ohio...Went out and asked if they wanted some coffee or pepsi...food? Nope...but they did set one guy up! Had me tell him to get off property .lolol Poor guy didn't know what or why, but he backed up in a hurry! I cracked up and so did the gang...shame on us...I guess I stayed out and talked and joked with them for about 15 mins or so...Man! It was cold out there with no coat on!

Annie, honey, come over here for a minute and let me whisper something in your ear! Shoo, you all! this is private...just between me and Annie! Now git!
Annie, let me tell you, them fellers was right purty! I'm sure they was all packin but them wasn't hunters...All ages and 3 of them were down right gorgeous...they beat my firefighter all to heck and gone! Wowser...

Meems gots to get going and rearrange some of the stuff on the back porch before Beau gets here!

Welcome home all mine, huggies from the emom..be at ease, relax and enjoy the hot coffee and the companionship...

Any juicy gossip or rumors floating around today? What?!? Nothin? I don't know what I pay you all for! Sheesh, well, maybe tomorrow...at least one can always hope!

Yesterday morning was sort of a bad time for me. But there are blessings to the bad...I received the nicest note from a very sweet lady, Ozarkreader, who said she reads the News everyday. What a priceless moment for me. Thank you dear one for taking the time to let me know. One act of kindness can make the world a different and better place for all.

A while back, I was doing some house cleaning and deleted the names of a couple of inactive members after attempting to contact them. I will NEVER do that again! It dawned on me, a little too late this time, that the inactive may have passed on.The little photo and name might be all the veteran had as a memorial...rest in peace, mine, and go in safety.

You know, I lied yesterday...well, not really..I told everybody that the guys working outside and across the road were from the elec company and they weren't. They were from the telephone company! One man stayed til way after dark splicing a fiber optic cable...then left. but I wanted to tell you that I saw my flyguys playing tictactoe again...and playing tag among the few clouds. My soul is up there with them...Peeking over their shoulders and laffing..all the while they were getting in their air time. "touching the face of God".

Oh, this is a pat on the back for the emom sort of. You all know I was an emergency dispatcher, still am in my heart. Well, I've started a small group for dispatchers. If you all know of any eons members who were or are still dispatching have them look me up please..Believe it or not, we suffer from PTSD too.

Garyjames has a beautiful photo featured on the Home page today. Well done, Gary.

KK has done an outstanding job on TLS of doing a Gotcha on Napanag! lolol NN should have known better and he was warned but he had to tempt the fates and play anyway! Gotcha again NN! lolol You'se is outnumbered!

My big beautiful dog is wide awake this morning and eating me out of house and home already...Him do like the treat with bacon grease on it. You're gonna love this! He got off the back porch last nite. When I opened the side door to let the other critters out, there he was! Oh dear! The inside crew went flying out the door..chasing poor feller!

I ran and grabbed pistol...ran out the door after them...nite shirt type gown...hair standing up all over my head...(no teeth)..bare foot..ran down ramp...dogs not in sight! I fired a round from the 22 and all of a sudden I was surrounded by the inside crew...then here comes new boy...I fend off the gang and get newbie up the back steps. Have to move big cupboard out of the way so newbie can get onto porch and safety...Had to fire another round to get Spudley's attention away from newbie. Gosh I hope I didn't hit the well pump with that round... How far do you suppose a 22 round loaded with birdshot travels? Ya know, I think I will call him Newbie instead of Beau...Yup, Newbie sounds good to me! Maybe I'll reconsider checking into the new 7 week old puppy...hmmm! Never know tho.

Help selves to more coffee and fill up your thermos. It's raining out there now...Stay warm and dry, mine.

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home...the door is always open and so are my arms to give you warm hugs..My love to you and yours...the emom

Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home. I'm glad you all came in and helped yourselves this morning and let me sleep...Oh thank you for the coffee, just toast please. Let me get myself together here and I'll finish telling you about the first twenty-four with the Newbie and my lack of sleep.

Well, I finally had to move the big storage shed thingy away from the top of the steps...told you about that. I fed everybody to the gills...bellies full and all seemed content. I am ready to crawl into bed when Newbie starts to howl...Poor feller, I really understood his loneliness and being in a strange place; I felt bad for him. Then the rest of the crew, inside, started to howl and bark along with him. Do you have any idea how loud and deafening the howls and barks of 5 dogs of various sizes can be? Trust me, it boggles the mind! and the brain, and the liver and and and...Everybody finally settled down. I crawled under the covers and then got the giggles. I finally drifted off but I was grinning as I went!

Yesterday went well with Newbie...other that a few growls there were no battles...I make sure that I feed the two males separately and I put any outside food up on the table...nothing to fight over. Spudley still rumbles a little but he's established the pecking order and Newbie goes along with it! I think we are gonna make it. I plan on taking some photos when the sun is out and Newbie is more comfortable with his new place. He is such a beautiful color almost a peachy gold. pink gold? No, a warm and lovely gold...Big brown eyes, curly tail...and Oh my goodness the hair! Except for the tail, he very much resembles a small golden bear! and lordy can he eat!

The telephone guys went up the road yesterday stringing new cable...Wonder if that coating will freeze and crack in the cold winds we have up here on the mountain side? Gonna be interesting to see. If so, I better get the ham unit charged and ready! lolol

Be sure and read DispatchDebbie's post in VNV and WHVV about "the politics of blaming veterans of PSTD". It is well done and I think, very helpful to all vets.

Oh, I apologize for the long posts on some of the groups yesterday. I get lost sometimes when I am copying and pasting things..and forget just where I am.. organization is not one of my strong points...I just wanted to share the funny/serious remarks from the "Military Handbook". Some of the rules are serious words to live by and I am taking them to heart!

I guess that's it for now...I have probably forgotten a dozen things...usually do!

Welcome home all mine, welcome home. Be at ease, rest a while, you are safe here with me...love to all of mine and their loved ones...the emom

Welcome home. dear hearts welcome hom. Get your buns in here and close the door...sheesh it's only 4° out there...thank goodness the wind has died down...the air is dry and I'm getting zapped by static elec! I hate that! The blue light is on the controls for the Heat Pump...I see dollar signs flying right now..lolol

I guess everybody knows that the phone lines were down from 1000 to 1630 hours yesterday..I had elec but no phone, no puter...talk about your basic withdrawal! No communications...aaaachk! It's one thing to choose and quite another to have it done with no warning!

Any how, my great adventure for the day...I drove (read slid) down the mountain. I was heading for the two pumper store to buy some bread and to see about phone. As I was merrily doing the Ky Mountain sled ride, it dawned on me that I had left my money and check book on the counter in the kitchen. Well, ratz! Too late and no place to turn around! Managed to land at bottom all in one piece. Downhill on the snow gravel road wasn't too bad.

Stopped at Anna's and borrowed some money...God love her, she trusts me...visited there for a few then went merrily (read grumpy) on to the store! Got my stuff and the loaf of bread!

Now the drive home...second gear up the mountain .. all the way..started sliding one time and in the worst spot but kept the ol truck steady and made it safely...this old mountain loves me and I love her and definitely respect her moods!

Now, back to some of the stuff I was going to tell you yesterday. I saw the flyboys up there the day before (Wednesday) getting in their air time. Maybe they are playing chess...lots of squares up there. lolol

BG let me know that she is still 'bumping and grinding away' in her physical fitness classes. Hate to say this but I think I lost those two items years ago. lolol I also lost my 'bop'!

Helpful hint...Tie a bright piece of cloth to mail box to get help... stuff note in mailbox...

Another helpful hint: borrowed (read stolen) from the MILITARY MANUAL: If you see a bomb tech running, keep up with him! I like this one a lot! So much in fact, that I am starting to sleep with my tenny pumps on...always be prepared is best motto!

Chris just wrote the most interesting item! Her daughter is in the military also...And Chris' mother served in our armed forces. A third generation military family...Atta girl, Christina! I am so proud of you and yours. Huggies dear heart!

And I see that we have two 'firebrands' at work in VNV and WHVV. Wowser! Atta girl's Hippychick and Dispatch Debbie! Keep up the good work!

KK, my good friend has been under the weather, so she hasn't been posting much...but she should be back in trim soonly. Annie is, well, Annie. Lord only knows what she's been into lately...but I am sure we will find out!

Welcome home dear hearts, welcome...be at ease, relax, enjoy the company of others who have been there. I welcome you with open arms and warm heart...love all of mine...the emom

Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home. Be at ease, you are safe here and among the many who understand. It ok to be human and share your pain with others who know.

Now, get in here and set a spell...Coffee's fresh and hot...foods all ready and hot...Now EAT! I sure hope you brought your rain gear with you... Supposed to be a heat wave with lots of rain today.
Well, at least it's gonna be above freezing for a while.

I have a small story to tell you today. Below is a very important piece of jewelry that I have worn for years. The colors didn't scan too well but I wanted to share the story anyway.

Many moons ago, I bought a tie tack that I thought I could wear on the lapel of a jacket. Got it on QVC and used the good old American credit card. It is a small piece with yellow and white gold, set with rubies and sapphires. Well, the lapel idea didn't work out too well as the piece was too heavy and would turn on its side. Hmmm... what to do. I sent the piece away to a jeweler's and had the pin removed from the back and a loop soldered to the top. It was well worth the added expense as I have worn this little gem everyday since the inception of DESERT SHIELD. It is our flag! The sapphires are the blue of our flag and the rubies are the stripes set against white gold. I just wanted to share even tho the colors didn't come out the way I had hoped.

Check out the lastest post from DispatchDebbie in 911 Emergency Distpatchers titled Ozark Heroes.

Keenkat49 has done a remarkable job of posting our more important locations as links in WHVV. Atta girl KK...and no typos! amazing...gotcha!

Hippy chick has started a discussion in VNV with one of her posts...a hot verbal debate is going on.

And GaryJames has done a great job of arranging subjects as separate links in CCC. It is a very interesting and handy concept.

Let's see, Newbie is settling in nicely and has the sweetest disposition...Him do love the flavor of bacon grease...lolol...Newbie and Spudley have had a couple of minor go-rounds...Spuds had a mouthful of peach colored hair in his mouth yesterday...but no damage was done...Newbie has a lot of fur! lol

Before I forget, Marvinll really gets testy when an issue of the News is missing in my blog! Sorry Marv honey, it wasn't my fault! It was the phone company's... lolol Now, before I get into any trouble, I am off to get more sleep.

Welcome home all mine, huggies to you all and much love...the sleepy emom

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Come on in, be at ease, you are safe here in my home. Grab some coffee and get something to eat. You are with the many who understand and can relate to your pain. Be comforted and know that you are no longer alone.

Well, we are having a heat wave here. It was above freezing when I let the dogs out and it just might get into the 40's...Wow...the ice is starting to melt around the waterfall on the pond. the Chickyducks are complaining. The dogs are in and out. (There is always a critter on the wrong side of the door) And all is right with my world!

I have been swamped lately on the puter. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep up with all of the groups so I have had to drop some from the news. I was getting too confused with so many, double posting in some and finding some that I had skipped.
You can always find my blogs though cause this is where I start the day. most of the time...sort of... lol. This is a definite maybe!

I've been playing on IM too...that's kind of neat...a chat box that nobody else can see...

Gonna try to get to the paint brushes today...lol... BG has been 'on' me to get back to painting. well, today seems a good day...the sun is warm and shining. Sky is a little hazy but I hope to see a few clouds and my guys up there again getting in their air time...I love to watch them play...maybe next time I'll come back as a bird! Sounds like fun to me!

Newbie, the big dog has settled in nicely but gee he has an appetite to beat all I've seen...he goes thru a 3 lb coffee can of dried food a day, not counting the other stuff the dogs get. lolol but he is cute and very sweet natured. I guess he has decided that this is an ok place and will stay for a while. He also alerts at night...the inside dogs listen and seem to translate his barks. If they go aroaring I grab pistol and go after them...If they just make a couple of woofs and go back to sleep, so do I...fantastic arrangement.

Let me see here, I always torment KK about her typos...well, sheesh, I made a big one on the Eons Tops page...instead of veterans, I typo'd verterans.
Sorry guys and gals...I do know how to spell most of the time...my fingers seem to have a mind of their own and an outrageous sense of humor...lolol

Wonder if I'll have any hunters today...

Welcome home dear ones, welcome home. Huggies and much love to all of mine and theirs...Go in safety...the emom

Welcome home dear hearts, welcome home. Come on in and set a spell. The sun is up, the temp is rising, beautiful sunrise. I think it's gonna be a purty day. You guys and gals know where every thing is...help selves..Oh, and write a note on the list on the fridge if I'm starting to get low on anything, sugar, cream, you know...butter, whatever. Supplies are all important at base camp ... lolol I'm getting low on coffee? Good grief! Can't let that happen! Looks like I need to make a trip to the store sometime this week...Grumble, mumble hate going to store...50 mile round trip...Sigh, oh well....

Graywolf12 will be posting some of his short stories and poems in WHVV. Thank you dear heart. Lookin' forward to the read.

BG, our traveling physical fitness trainer, found she had a flat tire this week end...It isn't funny but it is...lololol. Never did get the scoop on who changed the flat...Wonder if I ever will....

KK is still bundled in the the bed with cats and puter trying to stay warm and get over the flu...UP child, there's work to be done...You are supposed to keep me out of trouble...lolol

Newbie, BIG dog, has decided the emom is ok. He greets me at the door...Spudley grumbles (he's the jealous type) but doesn't seriously attack now...just keeping the 'pecking order' in line...Spuds is top dog out here.

No hunters yesterday so I didn't have to shoot another hole in the screen. I think that's a good thing!

I've asked to be put back into the line up in VNV. Hey, I'm female! I'm allowed to change my mind.

Let me see here...I did get some work done yesterday...one painting framed and working on framing the Storm Gods at Play...framing a piece at a time...lolol...painting not square. wouldn't fit into frame...I lost patience, temper, religion, mind, and some control...I threw frame on floor, frame went into 4 pieces, so did I. lolol I know better than to do something stupid like that, but I did it anyway!
Not funny but it is and I've got the giggles now.

Back to the female business...lolol...I'm allowed to throw a hissy fit once in a while...Cause I said! I'm a mean lil ol lady remember?

Guess that's it for the day...

Welcome all my dear hearts. Welcome...the emom loves you all...go safely...The in a much better mood emom
