Painting in Winter

Does anyone find that the gloomy winter months have an effect on you work? Is it harder to create when the sun isn't shining? Are you less inspired? Does anyone work with faux daylight bulbs used to treat SAD? Just wondering and would love to hear your thoughts, fellow painters!

The place I use is not well heated, so while the view is great I don't paint often in the winter.

During the past several weeks I've retreated to the basement and have been able to paint several landscape oil paintings. The bleakness and snow of these past weeks hasn't kept me from enjoying a wonderful hobby.
