Surprised there's not more chatter going on here! Shall we liven it up? Want to share where you've traveled or want to visit? Any funny stories?
I've been fortunate to have lived in Germany for a couple of years (a long time ago) and, as a result spent time sightseeing around Europe. Have been on a few Caribbean cruises, visited Hawaii many times (lived there for awhile, too). Been to Mexico and Canada. Italy is probably my favorite European county and hope to re-visit someday.
I am in several travel groups, and have receently added this one. Hopefully there will be more postings. I was in Europe in March. It was cold and snowing or raining almost everywhere. This time I took my 19 yr old granddaughter with me. This was her first trip there and she took over 400 pics! I probably said the same things on another travel group. Anyway, we flew into Frankfurt, took a train or two to Bad Kreuznach, a lovely spa town in Germany. We only stayed a couple of days because we needed to get to Romania. It was snowing so much when we got to Brasov, we couldn't get to Dracula's castle. We did manage to go to Neuscwanstein Castle in Germany though. It was snowing and the bus couldn't go up the hill so we had to take a horse and carriage. We went to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Lindau, the Rhine area, Amsterdam, Venice, Vienna, Salzburg, Munich, Bad Munster, not in that order. WE stayed the last 3 days in Bad Kreuznach in an apartment. It isn't too far from Frankfurt where we were flying home from.
Hi Platform,
What a great trip you had with your grand-daughter.
I also visited Neuswanstein (sp?) years ago and took the horse carriage up, we walked down. Wasn't that a cool place and way ahead of it's time.
How was Romania? I'm looking for someplace new to take my friends that travel with me next year. But the Euro - YUK.
I'm thinking maybe New Zealand and Australia - the dollar is even there but the air ticket will be high. Boy, you can't catch a break this year. LOL. Have you been there yet? I see travel channel shows on New Zealand and looks breathtaking, seems you could actually spend your whole time there and do Australia another time but if you go that far!!!!!!!!! You know the story.
I'm also thinking of doing a Panama Canal Cruise - the rate is in dollars, uppack once, lots of stops at interesting placed, all your food, entertainment etc. So that is an option.
I love Europe and figured I would do cruises when I got older (well, older than now- ha ha) but maybe I will put one together and see how it goes.
Have a great week
Nancy
Well, I haven't been on for awhile, I haven't been anywhere, heck with the price of gas who can afford to, I know I can't. It is just getting to expensive to run around for no good reason, I guess I am alone on this one.

Kipan....You can start traveling again.....Gas has dropped, besides don't let the price of gas stop you from enjoying life...you only come through here once so go for it. Remember...Life is a journey to be traveled, not a destination to be reached.
C ya on the road........
