What I believe being A Hippie Means.

I believe it means inclusion, not exclusion. All members have an equal voice and say in this group. I am here to take your advise, the hippie way is to be as free as possible. This group is not about an "Elite 8" or a select few, this group is all about all 966 people.
Peace and Love to All

Roger,
I missed the whole thing, but I was informed about the events that hapened. I know you know you're not goin' anywhere, cause we'd all come after you. I, for one completely accept you for who you are. I'm not in H4L to be touchy and bicker with people. I'm here because I keep that Hippie state of mind and life is much to short for us to fight with each other. I can do that in person with my husband. I never thought I'd ever make such good friends over the internet , but I did. Most of them in this group, you are completely included. It's just cyberspace. Why do we still get uptight?

roger's here - he has posted since the whole event... i missed the whole thing.

bijou it is nice to have cyber friends - for one they are removed from our everyday lives and can be counted on for a fresh perspective and because we are all here for the same reason - to get our hippy on - we can also share...

Why do I always miss the good stuff? Spending too much time on FB I think. I would like to meet many of the H4L gang that I have met in cyberspace. I still am wishing and hoping that we could find a place to live together. There are many places available but no one (including me) has taken that first step. Maybe someday........

High! Did I miss something? Being a hippie is practicing peace; tolerance and understanding of others; expanding your consciousness (and not just thru drugs, but things like meditation, etc.); treating the cosmos with care and respect; encouraging freedom of speech, dress, and lifestyle; and spreading positive energies, i.e., love, whenever-and-wherever you can.

I don't think being politically active and being a hippie are mutually exclusive, because I've been both since the late '60s. All the petitions I've signed over the years, along with vehemently opposing war of ANY kind, for ANY reason, seem to dovetail well with my hippie sensibilities.

And I LOVE H4L - in December, I'll have been here 3 years! BTW, H4L's anniversary is coming up this month, the 27th (established 11-27-2006), right, Roger?

This group is extra-special for me, because H4L was my VERY 1ST online social networking experience! I was a cyberspace "virgin," when I joined Eons -- come to think of it, Eons is STILL the only place where I connect with others online socially! I thank everyone here for just "being who you are," and including me in your warm and friendly circle. Stay High and Peace! Alison
