I here on occasion. I live in Northern California and my sig other passed away in 2003. We were together for 12 years and we chose to not get married due to financial reasons. I was previously married for 24 years to a good man who left me for another.
Tony and I got together about 9 months after that. I had known him since I was 1 and he was 3! We had loved each other as children and believed that "someday" we would be together, but as we matured, we forgot about it. When Tony heard I was getting a divorce, he called me and eventually we got together. Since we had known each other for so many years, it was like we had always been married. It was perfect not being married as he spent his money any way he wanted and did I. Never any questions about whether "we can afford it" as each of us were responsible for our own money.
My 84 year old father even put a blessing on our living together. It was a super life. I miss him, but now he has been gone for three years and I tire of being alone so much of the time. I hope to find another loving partner one of these days.
