This is the classic 1932 cult film by Todd Browning, director of the Bela Lugosi "Dracula."
Banned for many years, the movie depicts the mistreatment of circus freaks -- and their eventual harrowing revenge. The film was controversial for, among other things, its use of actual "extraordinary people," but it portrayed them with great empathy. It's been described -- accurately -- as "one of the most nightmarish and COMPASSIONATE films ever made."

Hey, I saw the movie about a couple of years ago on the AMC channel here in Knoxville. It was a good movie, and the 'extraordinary ' people that acted in it were really good, I thought.

That was a great movie, way ahead of it's time. I could not believe half of what I was seeing. The characters were so good, and the courage it took for them to be in a movie. I commend them! The acting was for the time period was really good also. Even though it was a horror movie it had a very straight forward message or several messages. And though the ending was what it was it could have been just an educational movie. I loved it! Darwoods
