Guess we're stuck on Stewie

Interesting to learn a little about the history of the image but pretty disappointing to see how many personal attacks resulted from what was a joking inquiry as to why an apparently irrelevant image is the very first thing that someone sees when going to this group, called "50+ Singles."

Just because someone isn't privy to the secret handshake shouldn't be an excuse to start a bunch of personal attacks, should it? Or justification to have a conversational thread (arbitrarily) blocked?

What do all y'all think of people posting being attacked simply because they don't know something? Shouldn't members of the Group (and we are actually called "Members," you know) be a bit more cordial to each other?

I guess I did "step in it" and wonder why all the methane was released so fast... Whew. How about we all take a deep breath here.

I put the "Messages" page on "favorites" and go straight here without going to the group home page. Don't even have to look at all that beef that way.

dear scotty (or son of cibor as I've found out from your ranting PMs),

it WAS explained to you but you continued with your attack on our mascot so you deserve whatever you got. stewie stays....end of story.....and for those who don't like our own brand of beefcake, you can always go elsewhere.....or maybe I'll just help you out with that.....along with a couple of other constant complainers (and you KNOW who you are!!).

Scott, I didn't even know who "Stewie" was until your post. I'm also not in the loop. Anyway, guess we all learned something about our group. Glad you asked, now I know. Peace

Is it really true that someone who doesn't know everything about this group and therefore misspeaks or asks a question that sounds dumb to those who have been here longer or pay more attention to it is simply invited to leave? What kind of group is this anyway?!

I've only been checking in for a short time and not even every day so I'm certainly in the much maligned new/dumb group. That probably means that I'm about to "step in it" myself but it is my impression that things can turn real nasty here very quickly and for reasons I can't fathom. Is this a place where old grudges are trotted out periodically? Maybe that's it. Or are there factions who enjoy attacking each other for sport? I don't get it.

Maybe someone more in the know could explain how this group really functions. The stated purpose when I joined didn't say anything about the insults, sarcasm, put-downs, cliques and feuds that seem to be the subject of so many of the posts I'm seeing.
