Only Obama will do! Part 2
As long as the Democratic Party (the controllers) believe that we the people will settle for any Democrat (this time Hillary), that's what we will get. Senator Obama will not have a snowball's chance in hell because this is a political process and not a general election (and even that is vulnerable).
Senator Obama has to do his part in that process of getting more support and he's doing that because Hillary is slipping in the public eye. He has to distinguish himself... and he is. Maybe too softly.
And we have to exercise our political pressure to let the "PARTY" heads know that they don't have us wrapped up. (Some of you are wrapped for the ride no matter who; but the majority of the populace is turning away from the party politics as usual and declaring themselves as independent: and that's a good thing!)
I assume that this group is composed mostly of Democrat loyalists who follow the party. I've done that for nearly 50 years now and I'm throwing in the towel. I'm a progressive liberal but I don't see that in the party anymore. I'm in the party of opposition to politics as usual. And if I have to declare myself as a populist independent: so be it.
If the Dems do not nominate Senator Obama, I'll oppose their selection of Hillary Clinton. She's no Bill Clinton. That I know. No that I would support Bill either this time around as I did in '92 and '96. I've voted for every Democrat from JFK on. But for me: Only Obama will do!
Look at the number of members in the group. Pretty sad. Many independents are looking but not convinced. If Senator Obama is our nominee, the party has a good chance to win: a very good chance. But the solid indicators are that if Hillary is nominated, we'll have 8 more years of a Republican Administration; and that would be a very bad thing.
In any case: we will probably have a stronger Democrat Congress.
You have to be pretty short sighted to not see this picture clearly. But then, Democrat loyalists are myopic. I know that. They can't see beyond their party expectations.
