MY LOVE FOR YOU
By KAT

Like a cat stalking its prey
love caught me unaware.
In my heart nestled to stay
just like fox clubs in a lair.

As flower seeds start to grow
to shine in hues of glory.
My love began to show
just like the age old story.

My love for you is different
it’s a kind not many find.
It’s love which was heaven sent
which makes it a special kind.

I know God chose you for me,
also, He picked me for you.
It’s evidenced here to see
in a love, both bright and new.

To love — ‘til death us part’
is love which will always be.
Nourished — growing in my heart
from now through eternity.

Quest

Beneath the same blue skies he plays
And to the same mute gods he prays
Apart from me,
Adrift upon a course as tortuous as mine,
Despairing to discern a grand design,
If one might be.

And, with a cloak of cynicism, he
Invokes a measure of immunity
To his despair,
Yet bitter tears in solitude he weeps
While all the world around him sleeps
Quite unaware.

One wonders if the pathways of our prayer
Might intersect, or possibly connect. They share
A common thread.
With fragile faith I face the great unknown,
Unwilling to negotiate alone
These paths I tread.

So, surreptitiously I search each stranger's face,
That fate might someday grant to me the grace
To recognize
Myself within a strange resplendent soul,
Fragmented once, but now restored and whole
Within my eyes.

THE TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN LOVER
By LadyJ

Here lies broken dreams and thougths of days gone by
Here lies memories where often times I cry
Here lies counts moments never to return
Here lies thoughtless acts that caused my heart to burn
But I will turn away; try never to return
For somewhere He waits for me; his tender heart I yearn ---by Lady J

Here goes my first poem:

True Love

Know his love is a careless child,
and forgets his promises past.
He is blind, he is deaf, and he lied,
and in faith was never fast.

His desire a disastrous content,
and a trustless joy.
He is won with a world of despair
and is lost with a toy.

True love is a durable fire
in the mind ever glowing.
Never lost, never old, never dead
and eternally burning.

Where Can I Go?
By nevoldwoman

Where can I go
When there's nowhere to go
When I'm parted from you?

What can I say
When all has been said
When you are all through?

What lies ahead
When it all lies behind
But the memories?

Will I have the strength
to wipe away tears
and then say "goodbye"?

A Dying Dream
By nevoldwoman

The one I loved looked every day
As bright as a day in June.
When she came to my house up the pathway,
Beneath the evening moon.

Then on the moon I set my eye
O'er all the ways I could see.
With happy heart her steps drew nigh
On a path that was dear to me.

My love moved on, step after step;
Moving on she never stopped.
Then suddenly behind the hill
The once bright moon had dropped.

Now rushed I to that garden spot
And climbed up on that hill,
The shining moon to her dear cot
Came closer, then nearer still.

In these sweet dreams I slept,
Kindest and gentle, sleepers boon!
Dreaming, my mind's eye I kept
On that now descending moon.

Now strange and foolish thoughts do glide
Into this foolish head!
What if it be true, I cried,
That my true love is dead.

My first poem

COME WALK WITH ME
By Sunny

(Dedicated to my husband, Bob)

Take a moment and come walk with me
Through our life
With love, passion and desire
Through the highs and the lows
Always together
Be my love

Take a moment and come walk with me
Through our life
As our children run here and there
Through the highs and the lows
Always together
Oh my love

Take a moment and come walk with me
Through our life
We’’ll walk very slowly and carefully
Through the highs and the lows
Always together
My dearest love

I’ll take a moment and walk alone
Through my life
I’’ll see you face and hear your voice
Through the highs and the lows
Until I walk with you again
My beloved.

Sunny:

What a great piece of work your poem, dedicated to your husband, is. "Come Walk With Me" is filled with emotions, caring and love. Your husband's a fortunate man to have you and I know you feel the same way about him.

It's hard to believe it's your very first poem. You did a magnificent job on it. I hope to see more poetry from you in the future.

This Is My Newest Poem

The Things That Matter Most In Life
Written By Starr

The things that matter most in life

Are not found in our triumphs

Or lost in our troubles

Not freed by our pleasures

Or bound by our pain

It does not come through searching in other hearts

But what we find when searching our own

The things that matter most in life

Is the good that we share

With those we love

And what we do with the time

We have to share it

This is very beautiful, Starr and very true as well.

It is now that is the most important thing.
For the past is behind us and the future is before us.
We only have the present ... a gift from God.
What will we do with this most precious of all gifts?
Will we disregard the present?
Will we spend our lives in yesterday's regrets ...
Or anticipate tomorrow's pains?
Or will be live ... in the present?

Thanks again, Starr for the insight!
