Laurie, I may be looking this recipe up as an after Thanksgiving leftovers meal using turkey.

Wild Oatmeal Cookies
Makes 5 dozen 2 1/2 inch cookies

3 sticks softened butter or margarine
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
4 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips(we use peanut butter/white chocolate chips
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1. Place the butter or margarine in a large mixing bowl. It’s a good idea to do this ahead of time so the butter softens. When you're ready to start baking preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Beat the butter with an electric mixer until fluffy (about 1 minute). Then add the sugars and beat for another minute. Add the eggs and beat for 2 more minutes. 3. Add the vanilla and stir with a spoon. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until you can no longer see white. 4. Stir in rolled oats until well combined. 5. Add in cinnamon, nutmeg, and chocolate chips. Stir as well as possible. 6. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are browned on the bottom. 7. Cool cookies on a wire rack or on a plate for at least 10 minutes before eating. Note: if you want to get creative during step #5 add in any of the following: up to 1/2 cup raisins up to 1/3 cup finely chopped walnuts up to 1/3 cup dried cranberries up to 1/3 cup dried apricots

THE PEANUT BUTTER CHIPS ARE REALLY GOOD IN HERE AND TRY THE WALNUTS WITH DRIED CRABBERRIES THEY ARE VERY GOOD ALSO----I HAVE MADE ALL THREE

Chocolate Chip Cookies (My 17yo daughter's idea of "baking")

Go to store with Mom or have Mom buy:
"that stuff in the long tube that turns into cookies when you cook it"

Get the stuff in the tube, chocolate chip is good

Slice it
Put it on a cookie sheet
Cook it
Eat it

*sigh Have I taught her nothing??? LOL

I have no idea what goes on in the chickyduck coop...don't want to really...However, every other day, I find 2 duck eggs after checking all over.

My question is: does anybody have a recipe or two using duck eggs?

They are too rich for me to fry, use in a salad or as fried egg sandwich.
Right now, I am mixing two a day with the dog food...they love it. El, anna's hubby, like duck eggs but he's not supposed to have them either.

the appreciate any thoughts emom

Here is a family favorite whenever we get together for dinner. Use the peppers of your choice...I use poblanos...fresh or whole frozen...but fresh is better. Cut off the end, remove seeds & membrane, I make 3 or 4 dozen at a time...they like them. place in glass or plastic dish, cover with saran wrap & nuke till they are slightly tender...about half done. Let cool slightly so they can be handled .Make sure the slit down the side is long enough to stuff them. I fill some with sharp cheddar, some with cream cheese.Wrap each pepper with a piece of bacon, secure with toothpick, Broil or grill till tender & bacon is crisp. Yummy!
