Horses Need Our Help
Sorry to be a downer on this normally very happy site but I have to.
Please contact your U.S. Senators and Representative and ask them to co-sponsor the American Horse Slaughter prevention Act (HR503/S311). The slaughter houses in the United States have been closed but horses continue to stream across the borders into Mexico and Canada, traveling longer, under harsher conditions to be brutally slaughtered so that those in Europe and Japan can partake of this delicacy.
Go to www.hsus.org and click on the legislation link, scroll down till you find the bill and then proceed.
Let your family and friends know about this also. Last year (my second year of trying to get this bill passed) I contacted a local reporter and got a story in the local paper. It produced a lot of editorial comments, of the 18 they printed in the paper, there was only 1 that didn't support putting an end to this slaughter.
Again, sorry for being such a downer, but I feel very strongly about doing all I can to see this bill pass and be put into effect.
