Hi, this is my first time on Eons, so I hope I'm posting correctly. I'm 56 and am probably more fit now than I have been in decades. About 5 years ago I took a free Jazzercise class, and I became hooked on it almost right away. When the instructor had to close shop, I figured that the only way I was going to be able to keep getting the exercise that I loved was to become an instructor myself, which I did at age 53! What I really like is the dance element of the classes, and also the weight training that I find really helps me stay in shape.

I live in a cold climate and I'm too wimpy to ski or snowshoe, so being able to work out indoors year 'round is great for me.

I do love walking for pleasure as well, and wear a heart rate monitor to check that I'm in "the zone" as much as possible. Golf is another activity that I really enjoy, and my husband and I always walk the course.

My mom is still very active and vital at age 82, and I'm hoping I inherited those genes!

Thanks for setting up this group. I'm glad to be here!

I am a 68 year old woman whos has been very active most of my adult life. I raised 9 children and now I have 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I live on a farn and I am pretty active. I love to walk, iUntil recently I belonged to a local hiking group and we walked a 8-9 miles everyother week. My problem is I had a left hip replacement last May and it has given me problems so I can barely walk without a cane. I had A right hip replacement 4 years ago and it gives me no problems. I don't have access to a swimming pool What can I do to get the exercise I need
