my name for grandma is "gramma" with emphasis on gram. My 4 yr old grandson gave me this name cause he has more than 2 grandmas! My mom is granny and nana and "my grandma", depending on which grandchild she is with...lol
Have a great day all...this "gramma" has to finish plans for her wedding Nov 24th!!!!

My grandchildren call me Gran(d)ma so far...when my kids were little they had
a Gran(d)ma, Granny, Nanny, Grandpa, PopPop & Gramp and 2 GreatGrandmas! Lucky kids they were!
My friends have heard of GGma & GGpa for GreatGrandma & pa.
Gma - Gpa, Nonny(ie), My grandbabies use Abuelita or Lita (love that one) for their (hispanic) Grandma, - I had friends that used Yaya (Greek?) or Yannie.
If some dislike Grandma or Grandpa (I thought I would but the first time I heard it - my heart melted!) I like the idea of an initial from your name(s) and and then add ma or pa after it. Mine are CC ... ex. use CeCema if it sounds good. I like CeCema or Grammy but my 2 grandbabies that are old enough to talk started with Gran(d)ma so that's what I am so far - it may get confusing when my other grandbaby starts to talk because her other grandparents are called Grandma and Grandpa by their older children on their sons side...maybe then I'll be CeCema or Grammy and it will catch on!
my grandson has 5 (yes five) grandmother persons in his life. so when he was soon to be born, my daughter-in-law asked what i wanted to be called. "Grandma" was my immediate response.
It's 16 months later, and he calls me "BobRi" and calls my husband "BobRi" because he hears my son and d-i-l referring to us as that. It just cracks me up! I'll get him to move to GrandmaRi when he's talking more. But for now, hearing "BobRi" come out of his mouth just fills my heart right up!
He has "Nonni," "Nani," GrandMargo," "GrandmaRi" and "Emmi" -- he's not going to be too spoiled, ya think???

I'm 'Gran' to four of my grandchildren and 'Oma' to two others. If I want to send the same message to all six, I sign it 'GranOma'.
We're grandma and papa at our house. The great-grandparents are abuelita and grandpapa. We also have blended families who have added to the nickname maze as the children try to keep everyone's relationship in mind. We also have granny and great-granny, and there's gaga and momo (but I have no idea how those came about.) My younger grandchildren have just discovered that grandparents have names!
