Sorry, not interested unless he's bringing Annette along. She made my knees buckle.

She's a sick lady from what I have read. I would much rather that she were to look into here than Frankie Avalon, unless he shares some stories with us, as an ordinary guy, not a singer or star, Oh, and it's nice to meet you, I'm new and feel a bit out of place, All of you know each other and I am barely able to keep up. It's a cool group.
we did a a a couple of posts on Frankie and Annette and also Fabian.
Saw Frankie Avalon on a PBS oldies show a year or so ago, he looked fantastic. Annette Funicello, on the other hand, is not well, she suffers from a debilitating nerve disease and rarely is seen in public. My wife and I met Frankie years ago at an oldies concert in PA, he was part of a tour group performing in Bethlehem's Lehigh College Stabler Arena. We were corporate sponsors of the event. Others performing included The Four Seasons, The Platters, Bobby Rydell, Fabian and others. J.
Hi, orchidstem,
Frankie Avalon is a really nice person. I talked to him for about 45 minutes a week ago (a href="http://www.eons.com/fun/feature/ movies/suzy-talks-with-frankie-avalon/ 20304?queryId=875036&pageTitle=Eons% 3a+Suzy+talks+with+Frankie+Avalon"> Suzy Interviews Frankie Avalon). My friend Joanne was with me while we recorded the phone interview. Before we started recording, I mentioned that it was Jo's birthday and this was her birthday present -- at which point, Mr. Avalon said, "Well, happy birthday, Joanne!"
I can't tell you how fun it was to actually talk to Frankie Avalon. I did some online research about him in order to ask relevant questions. It's funny, my favorite song of his was "Cupid," but he didn't even mention it. And, if you can believe this, I had written down a couple questions to ask him about Annette Funicello, but forgot to ask them. In the interview he tells a really interesting story about how he got started playing trumpet (before he became a singing star), and about how he met his wife (married to the same woman all these years and they're still happy together).
Give a listen to the interview if you're interested.

Thank you Suzy. I wish we could have known about his childhood. If he went through the same trials and tribulations that we did. Did he kiss anyone at the Drive-In?
It was a neat interview and again, thank you.
Annette I still fall in love everytime I see an old movie. Her MS has slowed her down I had the pleasure of meeting her at a MS thing in Chicago with my sister about 10 years ago, I still went gaga and so did everyone else of our generation around her. She is till lovely and I am still in love ED
Wouldn't it be nice for her to know how many people still love her? I see her pictures and she looks beautiful. I also saw an interview with her and she is a true lady. God bless her.
Annette and Britney, Britney and Annette, is there a connection here?
Well, yes and a lesson somewhere in it as to what and why things are different for kids today as compared to the mid-fifties.
I'm talking about the Musketeers in the different flavors that have spanned the years. When Annette was one of the original group, she was one of a group in which she was not the most talented one but well had a stage present that would catch the eye, particularly if you were a pubescent boy. I think the same could be said of Britney and she had a better voice than Annette.
So, what could be the difference in the way things have turned out for these girls? One I'm sure was the presence and determination of Walt Disney to keep Annette as an image and icon. Disney had control of Annette's appearance, appearances and presentation to the public, while Britney did not.
The result is a admirable though difficult result for Annette and a troublesome and scandalous one for Britney which will most likely end poorly.
