My weekend

The sun was shining and I was actually off work! I was able to ride both days at the old Fort Ord trails. It was a little hot, but not so much that you got over heated. I thought of Ria on Friday, and her gated horses, as I was with a friend that rode a paso. My poor paint/arab was hard pressed to keep up with that little mare. Saturday I took my friends 15 and 16 yr old kids with me while she got in a little overtime.
Anyway, it was a great weekend. How did the rest of the group do??

Sounds like you had a great weekend!! For the last couple weeks I have been trying to get my lovely horses to stay healthy. So I did not ride..but spending time with them can be just as rewarding sometimes. I did ride Coyote a bit on last Thursday & that so that was nice. I need to put ALOT ofweight on him so I think he is going into semi-retirement for a couple months...so all I can say to my Paso Pinky who is now healed from a kick in the shoulder..look out buddy it's your turn. I played with him yesterday & he is totally sound. Will be riding him this week..will let you all know how that's progressing. What about the rest of you?? Weekend horse adventures please!! Beautiful weather here in KC. I rode each of my girls and hubby helped me get our woods trails cleared and mowed as well as mowing paths around the upper meadows. Ticks are still out darn! They are what drive me out of the woods for the summer. I love riding in the fall. Hopeyou all had a great ride at least once this weekend.

Great riding week end happened here!
Had a lesson on Sunday...awesome.
Then this morning, when I biought the crew in for ride time ( doing 3 right now ) Jack was missing one front shoe.
So it is the stall for him until the blacksmith can come and re fit the boy!
he is not a happy camper inside, when everyone else is out.
Back to work for me tomorrow!

Hey there, glad you got to ride in such a nice place it sounds like. I spend the weekend with my Mother, we had a nice day on Saturday, and on Sunday and Monday just puttered around the house. WE had overcast, nice days not so hot. I didn't get a call from the girls where I go riding, so I guess they all went to the mountains to camp and ride. I sure do miss my horse(s)!! But I feel blessed that I lest I have found a place where I can ride on occasion. Those Pasos are great, aren't they? They just short step it and go at an amazing speed. They were designed to go long distances at a comfortable riding gait, but not a gallop. I'm green with envy. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I hope to catch up on the messages tonight and tomorrow. Ria
