Yep, they are scanned images. I just put the pieces on the scanner without a background and closed the top. Still fiddling with the contrast & brightness and can't get rid of the "fade" on one edge- maybe I'm being too picky. Glad you liked my rookie stuff :-)
The clay bead and turquoise set was the first beading I did and is still one of my faves- especially since my daughter made the clay beads.
I'm working on several things right now, I always do that, start something else before I finish..... I get inspired and off I go! Our friends that were in from CA a few weeks ago were in a horrible car accident last July and as a result she is a quadriplegic. I noticed she was wearing her wedding rings on a chain around her neck and am making a simple single-strand necklace for her to put them on.
Peace,
KT
KT,
The beads your daughter made look beautiful!
I also have lots of things going at the same time. I need to rotate where I am sitting anyways--so I have reading here, computer there, painting over there...
Did you finish the necklace for your friend? What a thoughtful thing to do! Sometimes we just don't know how to help somebody in a situation like that--and you noticed something you could do for her that is really unique! :)
As my daughter was so young when she made the beads, she doesn't remember what they made them out of- do you have any idea? I'd like to try making some myself- could they be that polymer clay you use? Haven't been to the craft stores in a while to see what's there as far as making beads.
I haven't finished the necklace, I currently have 3 beading projects, the baby quilt and a cross-stitch for another baby due early October in various stages of completion. I 've always been better at inspiration as opposed to
execution :-)
But I will finish them all in time- and bet I'll start a few more things along the way!
The idea for the necklace did come to me out of a deep desire to do something special for her. Thanks for your encouragement- you're right, it is hard to know what to do for someone you care about whose life has changed so dramatically.....
Blessings,
KT
