Pearl Harbor photos..........

Hey folks, I figured this group would be the best place to post these pictures...
they were found in an old Kodak Brownie camera. I have no idea whose, or when, or where. I'm just sharing them. I'll post the photos in the first reply. Give me some time to get them posted. There are 16 photos of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Stylin, I am amazed at these pictures! To be original pictures, of this event, I wouldn't be surprised if these pictures were worth a lot of money. I'd consult with someone about these. Thanks for sharing and I hope you take good care of them and find someone in the know about what to do with them.

Absolutely breath taking. How did you come into possession of these? I agree with Linda~~ I certainly hope you go to great length to preserve them and also research more of the history of their origin.

Thanks so much for sharing those Island. I only wish my father in law were still here to see them. He was a proud soldier of the time.kathy

WHOA, WHOA, hold on now. Let me clarify this. I don't have the pictures. I received them in an email. That's why I said, I don't know whose, or when, or where. There was no info with the pictures. Somebody somewhere found a roll of film in an old Brownie, and had them developed, and put them either on a website or just email. Anyway, they were sent to me from a friend in Georgia. Sorry I didn't make myself more clear there. I apologize deeply....

I'd venture to say that these weren't taken with a brownie. The aspect ratio of the pictures and the resolution would say that they were taken with a better camera with a good lens from the time. Most possibly by a combat photographer. The finding in a brownie is just some kind of cover up from where ever the long line of the chain of possession starts. Anyway, they are now on the internet and they are on servers all over the world. The shots are from many different locations and only a combat photographer would be moving that much with a camera taking so many different scenes. It was his Job and I hope he made it through that nightmare.

Thanks for sharing the pictures. They are part of history for sure.

Well whoever took them ~~ they're still some of the best photos I've ever seen of Pearl Harbor!! Isn't that grand that they've been found.

That's ok, Island...shoot if it weren't for us silly women trying to make up stories for you...life would be dull , now wouldn't it?? ;)
~~ and you'd be richer, cashing in those pics. :)

Those are great pics! I watched a show on tv about Pearl Harbor and it was an unbelievable attack!! These photos capture just how bad it was. I did get to go over and see the Pearl Harbor memorial which is quite heart-wrenching when you realize how many soldiers were taken that day. Thanks Island

Great photos, but I would say they are not from a "Brownie" found after the war. The pics are too sharp, in focus and with great depth of field. Thanx for sharing them.

What terrific pictures of such a dark day. I also think they look like a combat photographer took these. Wish my dad was still here to see these. He joined the marines in WWII & saw combat until he was wounded on Saipan. He & his buddy were the only 2 of his original 200 guys to survive the whole war & come home again.

Wow Mzmzu...what stories he must have had! Do you have photos?
I think it's great that people share some of the history they have from the wars...we all have to realize our generation is the one that's responsible for carrying on these tales...or they'll be lost forever.

Oh and welcome to the group...pleased to meet you. Kathy/gmawkc
