HCV
Hello! I was diagnosed with HCV in 2003. My liver was failing. I couldn’t keep a job because I had no stamina or energy. My red blood cell count was very low. I had no stamina or energy. I quit drinking alcoholic beverages completely and stopped eating fast food of any kind. I started drinking Cassie Tea and took all kinds of herbal supplements along with prescribed medication. I started a letter writing campaign and showed up for all my doctor’s appointments. I started doing everything I was supposed to, followed all the rules and signed up for disability and general assistance. This took a couple years! Eventually I got onto the liver transplant list. They discovered Cancer in my liver in 2004. One night in February, 2005 the telephone rang at 1:00 a.m. I was offered a deceased donor’s liver. Even though I was feeling okay, and it was not a convenient time for a transplant (it never is). I went to the hospital at 4:00 a.m. By 11:00 a.m. I was recovering with a new liver. I have had several surgeries, had a massive stroke, am handicapped, but I am glad to be alive and I am doing well, looking forward to a long life, or at least whatever I get away with! But I still have HCV. It has increased lately, and I have to wait another year for therapy. I am looking forward to it.
