Sunday get going!
Last Thursday I moved Matthew into his dorm room at CSU. It was especially hard to see Matthew go. He is a pretty special kid and out of all my boys, I spent the most time with him. Eight years of basketball coach and player and we had alot of time on the golf course together. Freshman year, a very happy time for him and I am happy for him and very proud of him......but sad for me.
So, Friday and Saturday at work were funk days.
Sunday, it was time to shake off the doldrums and get out for a ride. I decided to head up for my usual ride up to Allenspark.
Heading south out of my neighborhood of Carriage Hills

Did the climb up to lily lake...so much easier on an unloaded bike than that full load I had a few weeks ago!!
Looking back at Carriage hills and the Estes Valley

Almost all the wild flowers are finished and gone to seed but a few late bloomers still happening

This is the view from above Lily lake of Estes Cone. I should find out the geology of this peak. It sits by itself

It was a spectacular late summer day in the high Rockies!!!!
The Diamond on Longs

I got to Allenspark in a very efficient 2 hours. I am a much stronger rider after the last month and the advantage of riding a bike with only one light weight bag.
South view of Meeker...from this view Longs is completly hidden behind

They are not wildflowers, but a nice flower box in front of Charlie Eagleplume's Indian art gallery

A happy fellow at Wind River Ranch....it matched my mood by this point of my ride heading back to the house!

Once again I found that serenity of being out on a bike. Keeps my mind right for the week of work coming up.
Have a great week everybody!!
