Haunted pub, York, The Golden Fleece".
I love ghost stories and have observed a few otherworldly incedents. How great it must be.
Tell us the story Lazydazy. Anyone have any ghost stories?
I don't "see" ghosts, but I sense them, i.e., cold spots, feelings of foreboding followed by "bad" or life changing events. I think everyone is able to do this, but many don't stop and listen.
However, I can't pick good stocks or lottery numbers, mores the shame!
I have some ghost stories. Just hours after my first husband died in a car accident, he visited me - I 'felt' his presence (ice cold air), smelled his breath, and we communicated telepathically, but I didn't actually 'see' him. A couple of days later, my sister felt his presence while she was sleeping in my bed with her husband. She said it woke her up out of a sound sleep, and my late husband was angry... she says she thinks that he thought she was me (am I making sense?). A few more things happened that were clearly 'visits' by my dead husband, but I don't want to go into all of it.
Years later, I had a dog for 14 years and after she died, I would catch glimpses of her walking along the hedge in the backyard, which she did every morning when she was alive. I also heard her walking on the wood floors in my house (her toenails click, click, clicking) for several months after she died. My sister and daughter also heard this, by the way.
I've never seen or felt the presence of any ghosts in places that are supposed to be 'haunted,' but hope to do so one day!
In 1986, while spending a few days in York, I went on a ghost walk, which I heartily enjoyed. Regrettably I cannot 'sense' spirits, but the walk was great fun anyway and ended in a pub. How bad can that be!
One of the most haunted churches is the Holy Trinity Church in Goodramgate, so old it still has box pews.

Alas, I have never had any encounters with ghosts either but, that churchyard looks like a good place to meet 'em!
What wonderful pictures. I watch all the specials on the subject I can, but, alas, can claim no personal interaction with "ghosts."
my grandmother was rather sensitive to those things and many stories I heard as a child were about her knowing things before they happened. Those stories stuck with me and have helped me in my geneology work. Most I did not recall accurately but helped my research so that I now have the correct story.
One incident that I remember clear was as she told it.....during the war.
My mum woke up to the sound of pebbles hitting the bedroom window, my dad was overseas at the time and she thought he had come home on leave.....she went to go downstairs and met my grandmother coming out of her room.....she said "something happened to Harry" ....next day they got a telegram to say he was "missing believed killed". It was two more years before they found that he was a POW and still alive.
