Haven't seen it but from what I've seen and heard, it seems like a powerful story.
I haven't seen it yet either.....I wanted to wait for it to come out on DVD...that way when it gets too intense I can stop it for a while.....they won't do that for me at the theatre....
I've seen it and it is a very powerful movie. It is especially emotional if you have ever been abused in any way as a child. I related all too well to the verbal abuse and screaming and yelling that went on, but it was somehow very emotionally liberating as well.
It validated that some people are treated that way, but with the help of other people they can and do rise above the abuse and become productive people, who break the cycle of abuse.
I don't think it was a great movie, but it does carry a very powerful message that I hope will help people who have already been victims of abuse to seek help. I also hope that it helps people who are currently being abused to speak up.
It's already on DVD here. Almost rented it today, but opted for 3 others, Couples Retreat, Up In The Air, and The Time Traveler's Wife.
Last night I saw Precious.... what a sad movie especially when you think about it... this is a real movie, it isn't Science Fiction..this situation happens again and again.... a little depressing and all in all, I think it's a good movie, and the actors are excellent. Loved the end....
I want to see it,but have not been able to bring myself to it yet..thats all i can say right now
