OT Saying Goodbye to a Friend
My German Shepherd buddy has never been a friend to the birds, but he reached an truce long ago with my Amazon Dakota in a meeting that involved a beak and a nose. The smaller birds who could fly were kept in their cages when he was in the house.
I took Buddy in 12 years ago as a stray and though he and the birds never got along, he was the most loving dog I've ever known. Hip displasia has finally progressed to the point I have to say goodbye to him this morning.
