Yes I just heard & that really bothers me. Pubs will be taking over again. When dems have the [powers they just don't know how to "seize it"
Yes, Angel, I have been pondering this too, but you and Will have well articulated what I wanted to say. I hope the Dems will heed the message and shape up, or they would be handing it over the Pubs.

I'm afraid that Bayh is not seeing the big picture. His voice is more powerful in senate than private secter.
since Evan was deemed a centrist,i feel that both parties need him in the congress.i know i have spoken out against John McCain and Rudy Gulliani and at one time i liked the guys because they was likened to centerist instead of doing what both have done in the last few years was pulled into the right wing camps.you have to ask why like i did when them and a lot others from the republican party was sucked into that camp?why?money and elections is why. that faction controls too much of the party and i believe strong armed those that didn't foolow they would be deserted and left to fend fortheirselfs.and get thrown under the bus.
do you think i haven't tried to convince other republicans that and i get the deer in the headlight look and comments like, what do you want liberals running the country.yes i put part of the blame on them too,if they wouldn't have heavily pushed their agendas too,i think polarized a lot of independents and centerist.thats all a different subject.
George Washington was right about political parties even tho he did alaign more with the Whigs back then.
for one i would like to see a candidate stand there with a board showing where his campaign money is comming from.makes me mad people can look that up but they don't and it would shock the holy hell out of them, thats demacrats and republicans alike.
I'm thinmking that congress needs some "adult supervision" Also since the judges passed that bill that corp. could put in as much money as they want into a campaign, well what's the point? Country lost? I heard thathmmm what's his name. Dobbs? was trying to put in an amendment or something to overtern that ruling. Sure hope soo.
I'd like Lou Dobbs to run for president. I'm in agreement with most of his ideas. If someone would come up with the money he might actually run.
In my opinion I want the next president to do the following:
English as the national language.
Illegal aliens get kicked out with some exceptions (e.g. a member of the family serving in the Armed forces).
A border fence that really works.
Forget Cap and Trade.
If we still have terrorists in custody, kill them (and do it so it hurts).
A simple national health care system that a high school graduate can understand.
All high schools would be required to give at least a semester or perhaps two on personal finance, including buying a house. If people had the basic understanding of mortgages and such, they would never have gotten into the crazy mortgages (I recently read that about half the people who got into subprime, would have been eligible for regular mortgages, but the broker was a crook. If, to do this, they would have drop something else, get rid of geometry. I was a math major. Unless you are going to be an engineer or an architect you don't need it, and your college can teach what you need to know in one semester.
I'd like to see those changes, too, Cathbad.
I'd like to see 95% of the congresspersons quit - and give up their perks - and allow us to start over with folks we can respect and trust.
I blame the people who give illegal aliens jobs because they're looking for cheap labor and under the table financial transactions.
If nobody hired them they wouldn't be here.
How much damage did Bush do when He called them "guest workers"
Hi, Thmarty,
Who will step into their seats when we vote out the incumbents? Are you? Are you already engaged in your community and help draft local laws? Most politicians I know start their political careers wanting to serve their communities. Somewhere along the line, the desire to serve gets diluted by the desire to be reelected. And pretty soon, it's all about getting re-elected. Should we still trust anybody who wants public office so much?
I would not run for political office these days if my life depended on it.
