Reluctantly but happily
Dad releases his arm
As her beautiful white beaded chest
Pounds with Joy and Adoration
For her two special men

Guests see hear and feel
The sacred solemn hour
Now down the aisle arm in arm
Bride and groom are one

More complete and sharper
Becomes the moment
A much welcomed - uninvited guest
Appears in her view
At the very last pew
She pauses……
She opens her little waist purse
His crumbled picture reveals it all
Tearfully she greets the third special man
Whoshe never met before

As you tend to do, WUC, you end on a note of suspense and leave the reader with all kinds of questions and interpretations. I love it!

I'm thinking that third man is the bride's natural father. In any case, a moving moment is captured. Very well done, indeed.

At first I thought it might be her "real" Father. But based on the description of the reaction when her Dad "turned her over" to her husband-to-be I decided that probably wasn't correct.

So....it's probably a former love.

Special writing indeed. I am not a expert, but it is very interesting. A former lover would not be a person never met before, nor would they be a special person. I tend toward the real father, but if unmet why is he special now?

Very nice indeed Wuc. I'm going to go with being reunited with her son that she was forced to give up at birth so unseen. Even if that is not it, that is what it tells me.
