Remember when snow was a wonderful event as a child? Snowmen, snow angels, snowball fights...
No, me either - I must be getting old - lol
We got more snow than they said we would, and it was pretty laying on the branches of the trees - at least it didn't look so barren for awhile.
So it looks like we will have a white Christmas after all.
Stay warm!

I remember as a kid a wonderful snowstorm. I think there was a blizzard in Western KS in '57. Whenever it was I still remember the snow and how much fun we had. The drifts and snowpiles were so high (probably not as deep as I remember) but that is the only time I remember snow. I always like the first snowfall, but hate to be out in it.
Enjoy your white Christmas...... brown in KC right now.

Mony,
I remember that blizzrd in '57, too! The drifts really were as high as you remember. I could wlk out the 2nd floor bedroom window on the snow! We tunnelled underneath it to get out the back door of the house! My father joined a group of men who shovelled a path out of town to a passenger train (they still had those in '57) that was stuck in a drift several miles out of town.

I've always hated snow and cold even as a little kid.We had some real blizzards back then and I sat inside and watched my brothers play in the snow.Cold=pain.
Hate snow more and more. Must be OLD age. I have always said I would not mind the snow so much IF it just came down and stayed.. instead of Blowing and drifting! And the driving does not bother me as much as the People around me who Think they know Everything about how to drive. Most cant drive on a dry sunny day, let alone in snow, ice or even rain!! Give me Summer and Warm days.
Irish - I agree with you. You and I must be the only good drivers on the road. Most either drive too fast or too slow! The blowing and drifting here aren't a problem - too many buildings in the way.
I like the snow when it falls , covering all of our imperfect creations , is what I think of when I hear winter wonderland , still enjoy making snow forts with my son and snowball fights ,we gave up on finding hills to sled down , I pull him around with the 4-wheeler. The thing that seems to bother me is the cold , keeping my hands warm . I also enjoy driving down the curb and spraying snow and water . Maybe I am still kid inside this aging meat sack. LOL
Well put David - and everything does look nice and new with it's pristine blanket of snow. I guess the cold bothering us is just another reminder that we aren't kids anymore...at least on the outside!
You are so right about not kids anymore. I remember being hardly able to wait to go out in the fresh snow and make snow angels and snow men and snow forts. Would stay out until I could barely move my fingers. Today I dislike it when I have to go out and blow the snow off the sidewalk with the snow blower.
But I agree. There's not much prettier than a new snowfall.

You're right there is nothing better than the first snowfall. If you live West of Kansas City you are supposed to really get it this week. KC is not going to get as much. I am leaving this morning to go South to visit my daughter and her family for a week. I don't know how much I will be able to get on as my 6 year old grandson has plans for us. Our 13 year old grandson is so kind and quiet but is starting to outgrow the constant attention. We will play games or go to a movie. So Happy Holidays to everyone. See you later.
