Bleah....rain>freezing rain>snow next?

It was raining hard when I took my neighbors to the airport for their 7 AM flight. They are supposed to get in to Reagan National in Washington DC at 4 PM--which may or may not happen and hopefully they won't be stuck in Salt Lake City.

My parking area was slick when I went out and I put ice melter on it and by the time I got back an hour later it was icier than before, so I think it will get worse before it gets better. I'm glad I got them there and I got back before things iced up more out on the roads. I did see the sander out on the main road as I got home.

Now I need a nap since I've been awake since about 3:30 AM--didn't need to get up then, but I still woke up--so annoying.

Those of you getting slammed by the storm...be careful out there if you need to go out and keep warm.

Good morning mtwoman, glad you returned safely from your errand....ice is the worst and not nearly as "pretty as snow"....don't know, but I think your friends may be in for quite a delay based on the news reports?! For thier sake I hope not too much delay....

Did you get all your shopping and errands run before this mess hit? I still need to grab 3 more gifts and get a haircut, but figure to do that Tuesday as we may be in for a storm on Wednesday.....I may have to get out on Christmas Eve as well, but they should have time to clear the roads by then and maybe we won't get much....

All the DC area airports were closed. Are they open today?

Last I heard, Dulles was to open this morning at 6AM, so I suppose National will be the same.

It's still in the mid 30's here and snow still being predicted for tonight. My driveway and the lane are very icy, so I drove down or my newspaper instead of walking.

It is so odd because here on the coast we have about a foot an d even closer to the beach they got less.More rain

I think your icy mess is just as bad as all that snow thy are getting! I hate trying to drive in it,and am sure glad you made it back dome safely!I hope now you can just stay put as long as the weather is foul.
