Welcome.....

Welcome to the group lgracie. So what brings you here, I am glad you found us. I looked at your profile and see that you live in Arizona so you probably do not have the snow that a lot of us, including our British friends have right now. Do tell us how we can make this interesting for you, what is it that you enjoy about Britain and have you been there? We have many members who like to read but not write posts and we welcome everyone. Its great though if we get some input so we can talk about things of interest.

Welcome Igracie! I am an Outlander fan too. I have read the entire series as soon as they are printed.

MzScot, I was just telling Igracie via PM that I am just over half way through An Echo In The Bone. I do prefer the stories taking place in Scotland. Diana is a great character writer and love the way she interjects history as accurately as possible into her stories.

Yes, Igracie, this is a lively and interesting group. Lovely people! I am learning much from them and enjoy reading their posts and looking at pics here. Have fun! ~ Dee

Welcome lgracie. Haven't heard of the Outlander series, is the author American or British? I got hooked on books by M.C. Beaton about a policeman in the Highlands named Hamish MacBeth. I heard that the BBC made a couple of programs based on the books, but no one seems to have heard of them.

It was a series that lasted three seasons in the mid-1990's and starred Robert Carlyle who went on to fame in many other movies, such as "Trainspotting", "The Full Monty" and "Angela's Ashes".

It has been shown in America because many Americans have asked me questions about it. I assume it was on BBC America but I don't know for sure.

Outlander is a series of historical fiction by Diana Gabaldon, an American. The books are mainly based in Scotland, France, and the US and take place in the 20th and 18th centuries. Time travel. History. Culture. Romance.
